Mekong Delta Day Trip
I visited the Mekong Delta on a day tour from Saigon, Vietnam. Lots of other tourists were doing the same thing. It was the only way to easily see the region.

For the American glass sculptor see Howard Ben Tré Bến Tre is the capital city and the municipality for Bến Tre Province, in the Mekong Delta area of southern Vietnam. The city covers an area of 65.75 km2 and has a population of 143,639 (as of 2009). Bến Tre is 85 km south-east of Ho Chi Minh City and is connected to the surrounding provinces by Rach Mieu Bridge, a cable-stayed bridge which was completed on 19 January 2007.
Mỹ Tho
Mỹ Tho is the capital city, center of economics, education and technology of Tien Giang province, located in the Mekong Delta region of South Vietnam. It has a population of approximately 169,000 in 2006 and 220,000 in 2012. The majority ethnic is the Kinh, and some of the Chinese, the Cham and the Khmer. Chợ Lách is a rural district (huyện) of Ben Tre Province in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. As of 2003 the district had a population of 134,584. The district covers an area of 189 km². The district capital lies at Cho Lach. The district capital lies on Provincial Highway 57 and is 45 km west of Ben Tre and 20 km east of Vinh Long. The district capital was formed by Decree No. 41/HĐBT on March 14 1984 by the Vietnamese Cabinet.

Rach Mieu Bridge
Rạch Miễu Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge in the Mekong River Delta, Vietnam. The bridge connects Tien Giang Province with Ben Tre Province, over the Mekong. The construction began on 30 April 2002 and achieved completion on 19 January 2008, also its inaugural date. Total length is 8331 m, including approach ramps, the main bridge is 2868 m. Under the original schedule, this bridge should have been completed and opened for traffic in late 2007. Length: 8331 m including approach ramps.
