Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City (Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh), formerly named Saigon, is the largest city in Vietnam. Under the name Saigon, it was the capital of the French colony of Cochin-china and later of the independent republic of South Vietnam from 1955–75. South Vietnam, as an anti-communist, capitalist republic, fought against the communist North Vietnamese and Viet Cong during the Vietnam War, with aid from the United States and countries including Australia, New Zealand and South Korea.

Thich Quang Duc
Thich is a Buddhist honorary title. Quang Duc, is descriptive of meritorious attributes; see dharma name. Thich Quang Duc, was a Vietnamese Mahayana Buddhist monk who burned himself to death at a busy Saigon road intersection on 11 June 1963. Quang Duc was protesting about the persecution of Buddhists by the South Vietnamese government led by Ngo Dinh Diem. Photos of his self-immolation were circulated widely across the world and brought attention to the policies of the Diệm government.
Reunification Palace
Reunification Palace (Vietnamese: Dinh Thống Nhất) formerly known as Independence Palace (Dinh Độc Lập), built on the site of the former Norodom Palace, is a landmark in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It was designed by architect Ngô Viết Thụ and was the home and workplace of the President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. It was the site of the end of the Vietnam War during the Fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975, when a North Vietnamese Army tank crashed through its gates.

The Municipal Theatre of Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon Opera House (Vietnamese: Nhà hát lớn Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh; French: Opėra de Saigon), is an opera house in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It is an example of French Colonial architecture in Vietnam. Built in 1897 by French architect Ferret Eugene as the Opėra de Saigon, the 800 seat building was used as the home of the Lower House assembly of South Vietnam after 1956.
Rex Hotel
The Rex Hotel (Vietnamese: Khách Sạn Rex) is a famous luxury and business hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The 284-room, five-story building is located in District 1 of the city, close to the Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica and the Municipal Theatre. In 2003, the Rex Hotel underwent extension and renovation works in its architecture, interior design and engineering services. Rex Hotel is owned by the state-owned enterprise Saigon Tourist.

Saigon Central Post Office
Saigon Central Post Office (Vietnamese: Bưu điện Trung tâm Sài Gòn) is a post office in the downtown Ho Chi Minh City, near Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, the city's main church. The building was constructed when Vietnam was part of French Indochina in the early 20th century. It has a Gothic architectural style. It was designed and constructed by the famous architect Gustave Eiffel in harmony with the surrounding area. Today, the building is a tourist attraction.
Ho Chi Minh City Hall
Ho Chi Minh City Hall or Hôtel de Ville de Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Head office - Trụ sở Ủy ban Nhân dân Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh) was built in 1902-1908 in a French colonial style for the then city of Saigon. It was renamed after 1975 as Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. Illuminated at night, the building is not opened to the public or for tourists. A statue of the namesake is found in park next to the building.

Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden is located on 2B Nguyen Binh Khiem Street, District 1, T.P. Ho Chi Minh City.

Ton Duc Thang University (Vietnamese language: Đại học Tôn Đức Thắng is a university in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The university was founded in 1997, under the management of Viet Nam General Federation of Labor and named after Tôn Đức Thắng, who was Vice-President of Vietnam from 1960 to 1969 under the presidency of Ho Chi Minh and later became President of Vietnam from 1969 to 1980.

Saigon Bridge
Saigon Bridge is a bridge that crosses the Saigon River, connecting Binh Thanh District and District 2, on Hanoi Highway. This bridge is one of the most important gateways for vehicles traveling from northern and central Vietnam to Ho Chi Minh City since it is the only bridge linking District 1 to the new downtown Thu Thiem New Urban Area in District 2. In 2008, there will be more connections between these two districts by Thu Thiem Bridge, Saigon River Tunnel.
Thu Thiem Bridge
Thủ Thiêm Bridge is a 6-lane bridge in Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city of Vietnam, opened in 2008. The bridge links District 2 with Binh Thanh District, near downtown District 1. This bridge is an important link between existing downtown of Ho Chi Minh City with Thu Thiem New Urban Area. The cost estimate for construction of the bridge was US $60 million, implemented by a consortium of Vietnamese contractors.
1962 South Vietnamese Independence Palace bombing
The 1962 South Vietnamese Independence Palace bombing in Saigon was an aerial attack on 27 February 1962 by two dissident Vietnam Air Force pilots, Second Lieutenant Nguyễn Văn Cử and First Lieutenant Phạm Phú Quốc. The pilots targeted the Independence Palace, the official residence of the President of South Vietnam, with the aim of assassinating President Ngô Đình Diệm and his immediate family, who acted as his political advisors.

Ho Chi Minh City ITC fire
The Ho Chi Minh City ITC Inferno, one of the deadliest peacetime disasters in Vietnam, was a fire that occurred on October 29, 2002, at the International Trade Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, the commercial center of the country. The building was a six-story business building that housed a luxurious department store, a disco and offices of several foreign companies. The fire claimed 60 lives and injured a further 100.

The Hotel Majestic is a historic luxury hotel located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Built for local Chinese businessman Hui Bon Hoa in 1925 in a French Colonial and classical French Riviera styles. It is located at 1 Dong Khoi Street, formerly rue Catinat. After 1975, the hotel name was changed to Mekong Hotel (Khách Sạn Cửu Long): and it became a government guest house.
Citadel of Saigon
The Citadel of Saigon also known as the Citadel of Gia Dinh was a late 18th century fortress that stood in Saigon (also known in the 19th century as Gia Dinh, now Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam from its construction in 1790 until its destruction in February 1859. It was destroyed in a French naval bombardment as part of the colonisation of southern Vietnam which became the French colony of Cochinchina.

The tomb was originally built for Marshal Lê Văn Duyệt and his wife but later became some other Nguyễn Dynasty's mandarins worship house.
United States Embassy, Saigon
The United States Embassy in Saigon was first established in May 1950, and moved into a new building on a more secure compound in 1967. The embassy was the scene of a number of significant events of the Vietnam War, most notably the Vietcong attack during the Tet Offensive which helped turn American public opinion against the war, and the helicopter evacuation during the Fall of Saigon.
