Chacao, Venezuela
Chacao is one of the five political and administrative subdivisions of the city of Caracas, Venezuela. The other four are Baruta, El Hatillo, Libertador and Sucre. This legal entity is known as the Caracas Metropolitan District. Chacao is also one of the 21 municipalities that make up the State of Miranda, Venezuela.
Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda Air Base
Generalisimo Francisco de Miranda Airbase is located in Caracas, Venezuela. The airport is named for Francisco de Miranda a South American revolutionary, though most people refer to this airport as La Carlota. On November 27, 1992, the airport was bombed during a coup attempt. In 2006, Leopoldo López, mayor of the Chacao Municipality (where La Carlota is located), has proposed demolishing the airport and building homes and businesses on the land.

East Park (officially Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda Park in honor of Venezuelan national hero) is a public recreation park. Centro San Ignacio is a Venezuelan shopping mall and office complex, opened in September 1998. It won the recognition of Latin American contemporary architecture in the Mies van der Rohe Award that same year. It is located in La Castellana, Chacao municipality of Caracas, Venezuela. Its construction was carried out on the athletic fields adjacent to the San Ignacio Jesuit college, between early 1993 and late 1998. Currently is administered by Fondo de Valores Inmobiliarios.
