Estadio Luis Franzini
The Estadio Luis Franzini (or Luis Franzini Stadium) is an outdoor football stadium located in Montevideo, Uruguay. The stadium's maximum capacity is 18,000 people, and it is the home ground of Defensor Sporting. The stadium was closed during the 1997 season for renovations. It reopened on 16 August 1998 with the name Nuevo Estadio Luis Franzini. Renovations included a seating capacity increase and leveling of the playing area.
Estadio Pocitos
Estadio Pocitos was a multi-use stadium in Montevideo, Uruguay, that does not exist today. This stadium was mainly used for football matches of the owner club Peñarol from 1921 to 1933. Later it was demolished in the 30s decade because Peñarol started to play in the Estadio Centenario as its home field, and besides that, due to the increase of the urban part of the city that literally ate the field. The first FIFA World Cup goal was scored in this stadium by the French player Laurent.

The House of Representatives (Cámara de Representantes) is the lower house of the General Assembly of Uruguay (Asamblea General). The Chamber has 99 members, elected for a five-year term by proportional representation with at least two members per department. As of the last election, the Broad Front has retained its majority with 50 Deputies with the National Party receiving 31, the Colorado Party receiving 17, and the Independent Party electing two.

The Chamber of Senators (Cámara de Senadores) is the upper house of the General Assembly (Asamblea General) of Uruguay. The Chamber has 30 members elected for a five-year term by proportional representation; the vice-president of Uruguay presides over the chamber's sessions. As of the most recent general election, 16 Senators represent the Frente Amplio, 9 represent the National Party, and 5 represent the Colorado Party.

ORT Uruguay (Spanish: Universidad ORT Uruguay) is Uruguay's largest private university. It has about 11,000 students, distributed among five faculties and institutes.
Ciudadela, Montevideo
Puerta de la Ciudadela (Gateway of the Citadel), or simply Ciudadela is one of the few remaining parts of the wall that surrounded the oldest part of the city of Montevideo, the citadel, which was torn down in 1829. It is located by Plaza Independencia, in Ciudad Vieja.
Plaza Independencia
Plaza Independencia (Spanish for Independence Square) is the name of Montevideo's most important plaza. It separates Ciudad Vieja from downtown Montevideo, with the Gateway of The Citadel on one side and the beginning of 18 de Julio avenue on the other. Many important buildings, such as the Solís Theatre and the workplaces of the President of Uruguay are located by this square. One of the characteristic buildings located by the square is Palacio Salvo.
18 de Julio Avenue
Avenida 18 de Julio, or 18 de Julio Avenue, is the most important avenue in Montevideo, Uruguay. It is named after the date the first Constitution of Uruguay was written: July 18, 1830. It starts from Plaza Independencia at the limits of the Ciudad Vieja (the Old City), crosses the barrios Centro and Cordón and ends at the Obelisk of Montevideo in Tres Cruces, where it meets Artigas Boulevard.
Estévez Palace
The Estévez Palace is a building situated in Plaza Independencia, Montevideo, Uruguay, designed in a combination of Doric and Colonial styles by Manoel de Castel in 1873. It has served as the working place of the President of Uruguay and has been eventually converted to a museum, housing artifacts and mementos of the Uruguayan presidency and its office holders.
Executive Tower, Montevideo
Executive Tower the name of the working place of the President of Uruguay. The original project was started in 1965 as a future Palace of Justice, but the 1973 coup d'état interrupted it. By the time the military government ended in 1985, the building was too small for the Uruguayan justice system, so the project remained halted for decades until in March 2006, President Tabaré Vázquez decided to finish the building and use it as an extension of the Estévez Palace.

Obelisk of Montevideo
The Obelisk of Montevideo, officially listed as the Obelisco a los Constituyentes de 1830, is a monument, work of the sculptor José Luis Zorrilla de San Martín (1891-1975). It is a three sided obelisk made of granite, 40 metres tall with 3 bronze statues on its sides, representing "Law", "Liberty" and "Force". It has a hexagonal water fountain around it with six spheres on its outer circumference.
Artigas Mausoleum
The Artigas Mausoleum is a monument to Uruguayan hero José Artigas, located in Plaza Independencia, in the neighbourhood of Ciudad Vieja, Montevideo. It was built in the 1930s and Artigas' remains are kept in an underground room underneath the statue. The moument is guarded by a traditional guard called "Blandegues de Artigas".
National Museum of Visual Arts (Uruguay)
National Museum of Visual Arts (Uruguay) (Spanish: Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales) is the name of a museum, Julio Herrera y Reissig esq. Tomás Giribaldi, s/n, In Parque Rodó, Montevideo, Uruguay. It was inaugurated on December 10 of 1911. This museum has the largest collection of Uruguayan artists artwork.
Central Cemetery of Montevideo
The Central Cemetery of Barrio Sur, Montevideo is one of the main cemeteries in Uruguay. It also ranks amongst the most popular in the country, given the fact that most famous Uruguayan people are buried here. It is located in the southern area of the city and it was founded in 1835. The entrance, designed and built up after the Uruguayan Civil War (1839-1852), is the work of the Italian sculptor Bernardo Poncini.
Estación Central General Artigas
Estación Central General Artigas is the former central railway station of Montevideo, Uruguay, situated in Aguada. Designed by the Italian engineer and architect Luigi Andreoni, it was opened to the public on the 15th of July 1897 and was closed on 1 March 2003.
Hospital Pereira Rossell
Hospital Pereira Rossell is a hospital in Montevideo, Uruguay. It is located in the barrio of Parque Batlle, just west of the park of the same name. It was founded in 1908 and was built on land donated in late 1900 by Alexis Rossell y Rius and Dolores Pereira de Rossell. It was the first paediatric hospital, and shortly afterwards the first maternity hospital when they installed obstetric and gynaecological clinic in 1915. British Hospital (Montevideo)
The British Hospital or Hospital Británico is a private hospital in Montevideo, Uruguay. It is located in the barrio of Parque Batlle, just west of the park of the same name. It was first established by the British in the Ciudad Vieja under the name Hospital Extranjero (Foreign Hospital) in 1857. It moved to its actual location under the current name in 1913. For more than 40 years it offers a private health insurance to its members called "British Hospital Scheme".

The Italian Hospital of Montevideo, whose official name is Ospedale italiano Umberto I, (Spanish: Hospital Italiano de Montevideo) is a clinic and sanatorium founded in 1890 near Parque Batlle, Montevideo. It lies just to the north of the 1830 obelisk and the Hospital Pereira Rossell. The building, of the late neoclassical style, is the work of architect Luis Andreoni.
Palacio Municipal (Montevideo)
Palacio Municipal (City Hall) is the seat of the local government agency of the Municipality of Montevideo, Uruguay. Located on the main avenue of the city, 18 de Julio Avenue, in barrio Centro, it was designed by Uruguayan architect Mauricio Cravotto.
Plaza Fabini
Plaza Fabini, or Plaza Ingeniero Juan Pedro Fabini, also known as Plaza del Entrevero, is a square of the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo. It is located on Montevideo's main avenue, 18 de Julio Avenue, in the barrio of Centro and on its north side starts Libertador Avenue. Its main fountain has a big bronze sculpture of José Belloni called El Entrevero, which has given the nickname to the square. Under the square, there is a municipal exposition area called Subte Municipal.
Palacio Rinaldi
Palacio Rinaldi is a building in Centro, Montevideo, Uruguay, located on the Plaza Independencia near its junction with the 18 de Julio Avenue, near the Palacio Salvo. It is a fine example of Art Deco architecture, built in 1929, by the architect Alberto Isola y Guillermo Armas. It has been a Municipal Site of Interest since 1997.
Edificio Lapido
Edificio Lapido is a building on the 18 de Julio Avenue in Centro, Montevideo, Uruguay. It is a multifunctional building, built in 1933 and designed by architect Juan Aubriot. It is a fine example of the Uruguayan international architectural renewal of the early decades of the 20th century. It is a National Heritage Site since 1989.
