State Street (Madison)
State Street is a pedestrian mall located in downtown Madison, Wisconsin, United States, near the Wisconsin State Capitol. The road proper extends from the west corner of land comprising the Capitol (at the corners of Carroll and Mifflin Streets) westward to Lake Street, adjoining the campus of the University of Wisconsin - Madison at Library Mall.
Kohl Center
The Kohl Center is an arena and athletic center at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, United States. The building, which opened in 1998, is the home of the university's men's basketball and ice hockey teams, and the women's basketball team. It also housed the university's women's ice hockey team through 2011, after which they moved into the adjacent LaBahn Arena. Seating capacity is variable, as the center can be rearranged to accommodate a basketball court, a hockey rink, or a concert.
Memorial Union (Wisconsin)
The Memorial Union, known locally as simply "the Union", is located on the shore of Lake Mendota on the campus of the University of Wisconsin–Madison in Madison, Wisconsin. On the lakeshore to the north of the building is the Terrace, a highly popular outdoor space. The west wing of the Union houses the Wisconsin Union Theater. The exterior of the main wing was designed by University Architect Arthur Peabody. It opened in 1928, and is run by the Wisconsin Union, a membership organization.

Sterling Hall bombing
The Sterling Hall Bombing that occurred on the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus on August 24, 1970 was committed by four young people as a protest against the University's research connections with the US military during the Vietnam War. It resulted in the death of a university physics researcher and injuries to three others.
Chazen Museum of Art
The Chazen Museum of Art is an art museum accredited by the American Association of Museums located at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in Madison, Wisconsin. It was known as the Elvehjem Museum of Art until 2005. The mission of the museum is to collect, preserve, interpret, and exhibit works of art and present related educational programs in support of the teaching, research, and public service mission of the university.
Bascom Hill
Bascom Hill is the main quadrangle that forms the symbolic core of the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus. It is located on the opposite end of State Street from the Wisconsin State Capitol, and is named after John Bascom, former president of the University of Wisconsin. The hill itself is a drumlin, formed by glacial deposits about 18,000 years ago. The hill is crowned by Bascom Hall, the main administration building for the campus.
UW–Madison Geology Museum
The UW–Madison Geology Museum (UWGM) is a geology and paleontology museum housed in Weeks Hall, in the southwest part of the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus. The museum's main undertakings are exhibits, outreach to the public, and research. It has the second highest attendance of any museum at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, exceeded only by the Chazen Museum of Art. The museum charges no admission.
Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies
The Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) is a research institute where scientists research the use of data from geostationary and polar orbit weather satellites to improve forecasts of weather (including tropical cyclones and severe storms. CIMSS was formed through a Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration .
University Square (Madison)
University Square Madison is a 1,100,000-square-foot urban infill development in the City of Madison, Wisconsin. The planning for the University Square Project was started in 1999 by Greg Rice, owner of Executive Management, Inc. Greg chose Potter Lawson, Inc. , in 1999 as the architect for the project. After years of planning, construction began on June 2, 2006 and was completed in August, 2008.
Wisconsin School of Business
The Wisconsin School of Business is the business school of University of Wisconsin–Madison, located in Grainger Hall. Founded in 1900, it has more than 35,000 alumni. The undergraduate program prepares students for business careers, while its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is based on focused career specializations. The school offers many student services, such as Undergraduate Advising Services, The Business Career Center, and International Programs.
Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery
The Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery is a public-private biomedical research partnership that is located on the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus. It consists of two institutions: the privately funded Morgridge Institute for Research, and the publicly funded Wisconsin Institute for Discovery. Both institutes opened in 2010.
