Carpendale, West Virginia
Carpendale is a town in Mineral County, West Virginia, United States, and part of the 'Cumberland, MD-WV Metropolitan Statistical Area'. The population was 977 at the 2010 census. Carpendale was incorporated on January 2, 1990 by the Circuit Court. The town is a combination of three subdivisions of which its name reflects: Carpenters Addition, Millerdale I, and Millerdale II. There are no stores in Carpendale and there is only one road in and out of the town.

Gene Mason Sports Complex
The Gene Mason Sports Complex is a 55-acre sports field park complex located in Cumberland, Maryland. The park was dedicated in 1952 and geared towards organized team sports of baseball, soccer, football, valley ball, tennis, and basketball. A natural vegetation buffer exists along the Potomac River frontage, acting as a stormwater runoff filter and component of the Potomac River Greenway. A boat ramp is planned for construction this Spring.
Cumberland Race Track
The Cumberland Race Track (1924-1961), also known as the Fairgo Race Track, was located just outside the west side of Cumberland, Maryland along McMullen Highway at the location of the present day Allegany County Fairgrounds. The Track facility boasted 300 horse stalls and was the first half-mile track in the state of Maryland for racing horses. The Track was founded in 1924 when the Fairgo company was formed by the stock holders of the Cumberland Fair Associations.
Allegany County Fairgrounds
The Allegany County Fairgrounds is located just west of Cumberland, Maryland along McMullen Highway. Throughout the year the fairground holds musical concerts, car races, and private events. Once a year the Allegany County fair is held on the grounds, called the Allegany County Fair and AgExpo. As of 2006, the annual fair is an 8-day event customarily in the middle of July.
