Spokane County, Washington
Spokane County is a county located in the U.S. state of Washington, named after the Spokane tribe. As of the 2010 census the population was 471,221, making it the fourth most populous county in Washington state. The largest city and county seat is Spokane, the second largest city in the state, behind Seattle. Spokane County was formed on January 29, 1858. It was annexed by Stevens County on January 19, 1864, and re-created on October 30, 1879.

Manito Golf and Country Club is a country club located in the southern portion of Spokane, Washington. The golf course hosted the PGA Championship in 1944, which Bob Hamilton won. The club was founded in 1917 at Hart Field by a small group of dedicated golf enthusiasts. The Club permanently moved to its current location in 1922.
Spokane College
Spokane College was the name of two colleges in Spokane, Washington. The first operated from 1882 to 1891, and the second operated from 1906 to 1929. The first Spokane College operated from October 1882 to October 1891 on 157 acres just north of the Spokane River. It was founded by Colonel David Jenkins, a Civil War veteran, who later founded Jenkins College in December 1891. When it opened, tuition at Spokane College was $15.

Spokane Junior College was a two-year college that operated from 1935 to 1942 on the South Hill of Spokane, Washington. Originally known as Spokane Valley Junior College, it was a reorganization of Spokane University, which was located in the Spokane Valley. Spokane Junior College leased the buildings formerly used by Spokane College from the Norwegian Lutheran Church of America.
