Madigan Army Medical Center

Madigan Army Medical Center, located on Joint Base Lewis-McChord just outside Tacoma, Washington, is a key component of the Madigan Healthcare System and one of the largest military hospitals on the West Coast of the USA. The hospital was named in honor of Colonel Patrick S. Madigan, an assistant to the U.S. Army Surgeon General from 1940 to 1943 who was also known as "The Father of Army Neuropsychiatry. Thornewood

Thornewood is an estate in Lakewood, Washington. The estate consists of three buildings, including Thornewood Castle, which was built from the brick of a dismantled 15th century house imported from England. The Castle was used as a set for the Stephen King film Rose Red. The buildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and is now a bed and breakfast. Clover Creek (Washington)

Clover Creek is a creek in Pierce County, Washington. Clover Creek rises near Frederickson, flows through Spanaway and Parkland, is diverted under the main runway of McChord Air Force Base and Interstate 5, and into Lakewood, where it spills into Lake Steilacoom. Its drainage basin is 74 square miles . The creek is 13.8 miles long. Clover Creek was the traditional home of the Sastuck band of the Steilacoom Tribe of Indians.

Gravelly Lake

Gravelly Lake is a lake located in Lakewood in Pierce County, Washington, United States. The lake is fed by groundwater and has no surface drainage channels. The lake is surrounded by higher-priced homes and estates. Called Cook‑al‑chy (pond lily) by the native people, the lake was named Gravelly Lake due to the gravel-covered lake bed. The lake has two legal public access points, both of which are overgrown and are not viable for boat access.
