Tacoma Narrows Bridge

The Tacoma Narrows Bridge is a pair of twin suspension bridges that span the Tacoma Narrows strait of Puget Sound in Pierce County, Washington. The bridges connects the city of Tacoma with the Kitsap Peninsula and carry State Route 16 (known as Primary State Highway 14 until 1964) over the strait.

Gig Harbor, Washington

Gig Harbor is the name of both a bay on Puget Sound and a city on its shore in Pierce County, Washington, United States. The population was 7,126 at the 2010 census. Gig Harbor is one of several cities and towns that claim to be "the gateway to the Olympic Peninsula". Due to its close access to several state and city parks, and historic waterfront that includes boutiques and fine dining, it has become a popular tourist destination.

Tacoma Narrows

The Tacoma Narrows (or The Narrows), a strait, is part of Puget Sound in the U.S. state of Washington. A navigable maritime waterway between glacial landforms, the Narrows separates the Kitsap Peninsula from the city of Tacoma. The Narrows is spanned by the twin Tacoma Narrows Bridges. An earlier bridge collapsed shortly after it opened. Some of the largest octopuses in the world, the Giant Pacific Octopus, live among the ruins of the original Tacoma Narrows Bridge.

Point Defiance Park

Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, Washington is one of the largest urban parks in the United States. The 702-acre park includes Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, the Rose Garden, Rhododendron Garden, beaches, trails, a boardwalk, a boathouse, a Washington State Ferries ferry dock for the Point Defiance-Tahlequah route to Vashon Island, Fort Nisqually, an off-leash dog park, and most notably a stand of old-growth forest. Tacoma Narrows Airport is a county owned, public use airport located 5 mi west of the central business district of Tacoma, a city in Pierce County, Washington, United States. It is situated in Gig Harbor, Washington, one mile southwest of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The airport was owned by the city of Tacoma until 2008, when it was purchased by Pierce County.

Gig Harbor High School

Gig Harbor High School is a public high school in the Peninsula School District located in Gig Harbor, Washington. It was created in the summer of 1978 and originally was a 2A school, but is presently 4A. During its first year, the school enrolled eighth through eleventh graders. All seniors remained at Peninsula. The school's rivals are Peninsula High School (Purdy, Pierce County) and South Kitsap High School (Port Orchard, WA).
