Roosevelt, Seattle
Roosevelt is a neighborhood in north Seattle, Washington. Its main thoroughfare, originally 10th Avenue, was renamed Roosevelt Way upon Theodore Roosevelt's death in 1919. The neighborhood received his name as the result of a Community Club contest held eight years later, in 1927. Roosevelt's principal and minor arterials are the one-way pair Roosevelt Way (southbound) and 12th Avenue NE (northbound), Lake City Way and 15th Avenue NE, and NE 65th and 75th Streets.

Green Lake is a neighborhood in north central Seattle, Washington, USA. Its centerpiece is the lake and park after which it is named. Its generally accepted boundaries are Interstate 5 to the east, beyond which lie Roosevelt and Maple Leaf; N 85th Street to the north, beyond which lies the neighborhood North College Park/Licton Springs; Aurora Avenue N to the west, beyond which lies Phinney Ridge, and N 50th Street and Woodland Park to the south, beyond which lies Wallingford.

Park Vista
The Park Vista is a historic building in Seattle, Washington. It is situated on a triangular parcel whose full address is 5810 Cowen Pl. N.E. , Seattle, WA 98105. To the northwest is Cowen Park and beyond that the Roosevelt neighborhood; to the south is the northern extreme of the University District; and to the east is the Ravenna neighborhood. The building's entrance and garden lie along the hypotenuse of the right-triangle and overlook Cowen Park.

Its lunch and dinner offerings include a high-percentage of raw foods, and the business won the online poll for "Best Healthy Lunch" in 2011 in the annual "Best of" poll, promoted by Evening Magazine in Seattle. Thrive Cafe was opened on December 17, 2008 by Monika Kinsman, a Seattle native.
2012 Seattle cafe shooting spree
On May 30, 2012, just before 11 am, Ian Lee Stawicki (born September 16, 1971) walked into Café Racer in the University District of Seattle, Washington and opened fire with two .45-caliber handguns, killing four patrons and wounding the café's chef. Half an hour later, he killed another woman in a parking lot next to Town Hall Seattle on First Hill while carjacking her SUV. Later that afternoon, he committed suicide on a sidewalk in West Seattle as police closed in.
