Alki Point, Seattle
Alki Point is the westernmost point in the West Seattle district of Seattle, Washington; Alki is the peninsular neighborhood surrounding it. Jutting out into Puget Sound, Alki was the original white settlement in what was to become the city of Seattle. Part of the city of West Seattle from 1902 to 1907, Alki was annexed to Seattle along with the rest of West Seattle in 1907.
Schmitz Park (Seattle)
Schmitz Park, also known as Schmitz Preserve Park, is a 53.1 acre (215,000 m²) park around 15 blocks east of Alki Point in West Seattle, Washington. It features Schmitz Park Creek and one of the last stands of old-growth forest in the city. Ferdinand and Emma Schmitz donated 30 acres (121,000 m²) of the park to the city in 1908. (Ferdinand was the city's Parks Commissioner from 1908 to 1914). Additions to the park were purchased in 1909, 1930, 1947, and 1958.

Me-Kwa-Mooks Park
Me-Kwa-Mooks Park is a 20.2-acre public park located in the West Seattle neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. Me-Kwa-Mooks, meaning "shaped like a bear's head" and pronounced sbuh-KWAH-buks in Nisqually, was what the Duwamish tribe called the West Seattle peninsula when the first European-American settlers landed at Alki in 1851. Today's Me-Kwa-Mooks Park is land that was acquired by the Parks Department in 1971. The site was originally the homestead of pioneers Ferdinand and Emma Schmitz.
North Admiral, Seattle
North Admiral (or simply the Admiral District) is the oldest neighborhood in West Seattle, Washington. In the early 1900s it was connected to Seattle by ferries and a cable car. These ferries included the paddle steamers City of Seattle and West Seattle. The North Admiral district is the location of West Seattle High School. The neighborhood name implies that it is at the north end of Admiral Way S.W. However Admiral runs east and west and crosses California Avenue S.W.
Alki Point Light
The Alki Point Light is located at Alki Point, at the southern entrance to Seattle's Elliott Bay. In 1887, the United States Lighthouse Board finally recognized the need for an official light and placed a lens-lantern atop a wooden post at the point. Several years later, the Lighthouse Service decided to upgrade the light and add a fog signal at the point. The present concrete fog signal building with the 37-foot octagonal tower was completed in 1913.
Admiral Theater
The Admiral Theater is a landmark of the North Admiral neighborhood of West Seattle, famous for showing films that are just about to be released on video regardless of format. While the Admiral used to be the spot to go for "tight-wad" Tuesdays, at a mere $0.99 per film, and a normal price of $2.00 (with tickets good for a double feature) the current cost of a ticket is $5.50. The Admiral has been sold as of June, 2008 to a new group out of Bainbridge Island, WA.
Sixth Church of Christ, Scientist (Seattle, Washington)
The former Sixth Church of Christ, Scientist is an historic Christian Science church edifice located at 2656 42nd Avenue, Southwest, in the Admiral District of West Seattle in Seattle, Washington. Built in 1929 by contractor Neil McDonald, it was designed by Seattle architect Gerald C. Field in the Art Deco style of architecture.
