Belle Isle (Richmond, Virginia)
Belle Isle is a 54-acre island of the James River in the city of Richmond, Virginia. Once home to a nail works, granite quarry, and hydroelectric plant, during the American Civil War, it was used as a prisoner-of-war camp. Today it serves as a city park. Belle Isle has many bike trails around the island, and has a small cliff used for rock climbing instruction. It is accessible to pedestrian and bicycle traffic via a suspension footbridge that runs under the Robert E.

Robert E. Lee Memorial Bridge
The Robert E. Lee Memorial Bridge in Richmond, Virginia carries U.S. Route 1 and U.S. Route 301 across the James River at the fall line. The city acquired the original bridge from Richmond Bridge Corp in 1933, and it was named the James River Bridge but was later renamed for the Confederate general. It was originally constructed as a four lane toll facility and opened in 1934.
Mayo Bridge
Mayo Bridge (also known as Richmond's 14th St. Bridge) is located in Richmond, Virginia. A four lane structure, it transports U.S. Route 360 across the James River. Signage identifies the bridge as "Mayo's Bridge. " The bridge is actually in two sections, separated near the middle by Mayo Island. The total length is 1,374 feet (north and south sections combined). The current structure was built in 1913 and accommodated heavy streetcar traffic.

The bridge begins just south of the Main Street Station and constitutes the middle part of the Triple Crossing, going under the Rivanna Subdivision and over the Richmond District (Norfolk Southern) prior to crossing the James River.

Richmond and Petersburg Railroad Bridge
The Richmond and Petersburg Railroad Bridge was a bridge that carried the Richmond and Petersburg Railroad over the James River in Richmond, Virginia. The bridge was destroyed by the Confederate States Army in anticipation of the Fall of Richmond. It was rebuilt the following year. It was burned again in 1882. Its south side has been used for rock climbing since the 1980s. Today, the concrete and granite pilings of the bridge can still be seen just upstream of the Manchester Bridge.
