Sheltering Arms Hospital

Sheltering Arms Hospital was founded in 1889 in Richmond, Virginia. From its inception, Sheltering Arms has been committed to rendering medical services to all regardless of their ability to pay. The early mission of the Hospital, to "succor . . . the sick, suffering poor," drew the affections, resources and energies of many concerned citizens, physicians, and nurses into the service of ailing, impoverished Virginians.

Richmond International Raceway

Richmond International Raceway (RIR) is a 3/4-mile (1.2 km), D-shaped, asphalt race track located just outside Richmond, Virginia in Henrico County. It hosts the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series. "America's Premier Short Track" formerly hosted a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, an IZOD IndyCar Series race, and two United States Auto Club sprint car races. Richmond International Raceway is one of a few race tracks to host all of its events under the lights.

Varina High School

Varina High School is located in eastern Henrico County, Virginia, Richmond, Virginia. The current principal of the school is Tracie Omohundro. In 1909, high school students in Varina attended Varina School, the second oldest consolidated school in Virginia, which is now home to Varina Elementary. The Battle of Meadow Bridge (also known as Meadow Bridges and the Battle of Richmond Heights) was an engagement on May 12, 1864, in Henrico County, Virginia, during Lt. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant's Overland Campaign of the American Civil War. Following their victory at the Battle of Yellow Tavern on May 11, Union cavalry under Maj. Gen. Philip H. Sheridan advanced in the direction of the Confederate capital of Richmond.

Classic Amphitheatre at Strawberry Hill

The Classic Amphitheatre at Strawberry Hill is a 10,000-seat outdoor concert venue in Richmond, Virginia that presented a summer-long concert series of major music acts from 1991 - 1999.
