McLean, Virginia

McLean is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County in Northern Virginia. The community had a total population of 48,115 as of the 2010 census. McLean is home to many diplomats, members of Congress, and high-ranking government officials partially due to its proximity to Washington, D.C. and the Central Intelligence Agency. It is the location of Hickory Hill, the former home of Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Robert F. Kennedy.

Association for Manufacturing Technology

The Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT) is a trade association based in McLean, Virginia, in the United States. It was founded as the National Machine Tool Builders Association (NMTBA) in 1902. It represents and promotes the interests of American providers of manufacturing machinery and equipment. The AMT’s most visible activity is its management of the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), which is held on even-numbered years at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.

McLean High School

1964 U.S. Open (golf)

The 1964 U.S. Open was the 64th U.S. Open. The golf tournament was held June 18–20, 1964, at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. Ken Venturi won his only major title with a four-stroke victory over runner-up Tommy Jacobs. Jacobs held the 36-hole lead after shooting a U.S. Open record-tying 64 in the second round. In the third round on Saturday morning, he carded a 70 and retained a 2-stroke lead over Venturi, who shot a 66, after 54 holes.

National Counterproliferation Center

The National Counterproliferation Center (NCPC) is the primary organization within the U.S. Intelligence Community for combating the spread of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems.
