Reston, Virginia

Reston is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States, within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The population was 58,404, at the 2010 Census and 56,407 at the 2000 census. An internationally known planned community founded in 1964, it was built with the goal of revolutionizing post-World War II concepts of land use and residential/corporate development in suburban America.

Wiehle – Reston East (WMATA station)

Wiehle – Reston East (preliminary names Wiehle Avenue, Reston – Wiehle Avenue) is a planned Washington Metro station in Fairfax County, Virginia on the Silver Line. It is scheduled to begin operation in 2013, and will be the western terminus of the Silver Line from 2013 until around 2016, when Route 772 will become the western terminus. The station is being developed alongside Reston Station, a mixed-use urban center.

Reston Town Center (WMATA station)

Reston Town Center (preliminary name Reston Parkway) is a planned rapid transit station on the Silver Line of the Washington Metro in Reston, an unincorporated area in Northern Virginia. Expected to open in 2016, it will be part of the second phase of the Silver Line project, extending the line westwards to Dulles International Airport and eastern Loudoun County.

Reston Station

Reston Station is a transit-oriented, mixed-use, urban employment center in the Dulles Corridor of Fairfax County, which includes the planned Wiehle – Reston East Metro station, in Reston, Virginia. It is being developed through a public-private partnership between Comstock Partners LC and Fairfax County. The project consists of a 1.5 million square foot subterranean parking garage and 1.3 million square feet of hotel, office, residential and retail space above it.

Reston Town Center I and II

Reston Town Center I & II are two adjacent Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) office buildings located in Reston, Virginia. The buildings sparked some controversy in Reston, a planned community, due to the presence of a chained linked and barbed wire fence surrounding the buildings. In the late 1980s, the CIA agreed to install a more aesthetically pleasing fence around the buildings. The CIA planned to expand on the location in the 1980s, but scrapped the expansion plans in 1989.
