Lorton is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County, Virginia, USA. The population is 27,709 as of the 2008 census estimate.
Occoquan, Virginia
Occoquan is a town in Prince William County in the U.S. state of Virginia. The population was 759 at the 2000 census, but as of the census of 2010, there were 934 people residing in the town of Occoquan. The town is a suburb of Washington, D.C. and is adjacent to Woodbridge. The current mayor is Earnest "Earnie" Porta, who was first elected in 2006, and won re-election in 2008, 2010, and 2012.

Lorton (Amtrak station)
Lorton is a railroad terminal in Lorton, Virginia. It is the northern terminal for Amtrak's Auto Train which operates between this station and Sanford, FL. When Auto-Train was originally established in Lorton in 1971, the station house was still under construction. Until it was completed sometime between 1972 and 1975, it consisted of tents and pre-fabricated houses and trailers, and the parking lot was still paved only with gravel.

Occoquan Reservoir is a 2,100-acre reservoir in northeast Virginia, southwest of Washington, D.C. , straddling part of the boundary between Fairfax County and Prince William County, west of Alexandria. It is formed by the Occoquan Dam on the Occoquan River .
Workhouse Arts Center
The Workhouse Arts Center, a program of the Lorton Arts Foundation, provides visual and performing arts studio and exhibition space as well as arts education programs. The Workhouse is located in Lorton, Virginia, situated on 55 acres of land in the Occoquan Workhouse portion of the historic D.C. Department of Corrections Lorton Reformatory.
Rockledge (Occoquan, Virginia)
Rockledge is an historical home recognized by the National Register of Historic Places, located at Occoquan, Prince William County, Virginia, United States, near Washington D.C. It was built in 1758 from stone at the request of John Balladine, a wealthy local industrialist. Architect William Buckland worked on this house. The historic marker on the site reads: John Ballendine built this finely proportioned Georgian House, "Rockledge," in c.1760.
