Culpeper County is a county located in the central region of the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of 2010, the population was 36,689. Its county seat and largest population center is Culpeper, the only town in Culpeper County. Although the Town of Culpeper has experienced explosive growth in recent years the county as a whole has remained rural.

Battle of Brandy Station
The Battle of Brandy Station, also called the Battle of Fleetwood Hill, was the largest predominantly cavalry engagement of the American Civil War, as well as the largest to take place ever on American soil. It was fought at the beginning of the Gettysburg Campaign by the Union cavalry under Maj. Gen. Alfred Pleasonton against Maj. Gen. J.E.B. Stuart's Confederate cavalry on June 9, 1863. Pleasonton launched a surprise dawn attack on Stuart's cavalry at Brandy Station, Virginia.
Culpeper Regional Airport
Culpeper Regional Airport is a county-owned public-use airport located seven nautical miles (13 km) northeast of the central business district of Culpeper, a city in Culpeper County, Virginia, United States. Located in Brandy Station, Virginia, the airport opened in 1968. The runway originally measured 3200 ft. by 75 ft. In 1983, the runway was lengthened to 4000 ft. In 2004, the runway was expanded to 5000 ft. by 100 ft. It can handle corporate size jets and large twin engine aircraft.
Battle of Cedar Mountain
The Battle of Cedar Mountain, also known as Slaughter's Mountain or Cedar Run, took place on August 9, 1862, in Culpeper County, Virginia, as part of the American Civil War. Union forces under Maj. Gen. Nathaniel P. Banks attacked Confederate forces under Maj. Gen. Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson near Cedar Mountain as the Confederates marched on Culpeper Court House to forestall a Union advance into central Virginia.

The Battle of Morton's Ford was a battle of the American Civil War, fought February 6–7, 1864. To distract attention from a planned cavalry-infantry raid up the Virginia Peninsula on Richmond, the Union Army of the Potomac forced several crossings of the Rapidan River on February 6, 1864. Culpeper County High School
Culpeper County High School, properly abbreviated CCHS, used to be the sole high school in Culpeper County, Virginia. However, a new second high school opened in Fall of 2008. The school's current principal is Dr. Jeffrey J. Dietz. The school has classrooms throughout two buildings: in the whole of the CCHS building and in a separate building with 18 additional classrooms. It commonly uses the acronym BDP, short for "Blue Devil Pride," in posters in the school.

Battle of Culpeper Court House
The Battle of Culpeper Court House was an American Civil War skirmish fought September 13, 1863, near Culpeper, Virginia, between the cavalry of the Union Army of the Potomac and that of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia.
