The College of William & Mary in Virginia (also known as The College, William & Mary, or W&M) is a public research university located in Williamsburg, Virginia, United States. Privately founded in 1693 by letters patent issued by King William III and Queen Mary II, it is the second-oldest institution of higher education in the United States after Harvard University. William & Mary educated U.S.
Governor's Palace (Williamsburg, Virginia)
The Governor's Palace in Williamsburg, Virginia was the official residence of the Royal Governors of the Colony of Virginia. It was also a home for two of Virginia's post-colonial governors, Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson, until the capital was moved to Richmond in 1780, and with it the Governor's residence. The main house burned down in 1781, though the outbuildings survived for some time after. The Governor's Palace was reconstructed in the 1930s on its original site.
Capitol (Williamsburg, Virginia)
The Capitol at Williamsburg, Virginia housed the legislature of the Colony of Virginia from 1705, when the capital was relocated there from Jamestown, until 1779, when the capital was relocated to Richmond. Gunpowder Incident
The Gunpowder Incident (or Gunpowder Affair) was a conflict early in the American Revolutionary War between Lord Dunmore, the Royal Governor of the Colony of Virginia, and militia led by Patrick Henry. On April 20, 1775, one day after the Battles of Lexington and Concord (and well before news of that event reached Virginia), Lord Dunmore ordered the removal of the gunpowder from the magazine in Williamsburg, Virginia to a Royal Navy ship.

It is named for DeWitt Wallace (1889–1981), who was co founder of Reader's Digest magazine with his wife Lila (1889–1984). After enjoying the restored colonial capital for over 50 years as visitors, the Wallaces became major benefactors of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation late in their lives.
Crim Dell bridge
The Crim Dell bridge is a wooden bridge on the College of William & Mary’s campus in Williamsburg, Virginia, USA and is considered one of the College's most scenic areas. Crim Dell itself is actually the pond that the bridge crosses over, but the bridge is commonly referred to as Crim Dell. The bridge made was opened on William & Mary’s first-ever Parents' Day in 1966.
McCormack–Nagelsen Tennis Center
The McCormack–Nagelsen Tennis Center (MNTC) is a $3,000,000, 6,400-square-foot facility that is home to the College of William & Mary’s women’s tennis team as well as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Women’s Tennis Hall of Fame. It is located in Williamsburg, Virginia. The facility includes six indoor courts and stadium seating. The center was named after College alumnus Mark McCormack (Class of 1951) and his wife, retired professional tennis player Betsy Nagelsen.
