USS Norfolk (DL-1)
The second USS Norfolk (DL-1) was the first destroyer leader of the United States Navy. Originally projected as a hunter-killer cruiser, she was in service until 1970.
Waterside (Norfolk, Virginia)
The Waterside, a festival marketplace on the Elizabeth River in downtown Norfolk, Virginia, opened June 1, 1983. A critical component of Norfolk's ongoing post-WWII revitalization, the complex connects via a cross-street pedestrian bridge to a parking garage, sits at the foot of the Portsmouth Ferry terminal, and connects via a waterfront promenade to the downtown, the nearby baseball stadium, naval museum and waterfront neighborhood of Freemason Harbor.
Berkley Bridge (Virginia)
The Berkley Bridge is a double-leaf bascule bridge across the Eastern Branch of the Elizabeth River in Norfolk, Virginia, United States. It carries Interstate 264, U.S. Route 460 Alternate, and State Route 337 across the river, connecting the Berkley neighborhood south of the river with downtown Norfolk to the north. The toll-free facility is one of only a small number of movable bridges on the Interstate Highway System. At each end af the bridge is a complicated interchange.
Downtown Tunnel
The Downtown Tunnel on Interstate 264 crosses the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River in the South Hampton Roads area. It links the independent City of Portsmouth with the independent City of Norfolk. In conjunction with the Berkley Bridge, the Downtown Tunnel connects to Interstate 464 to the City of Chesapeake and a continuation I-264 to the downtown and Waterside areas of Norfolk, and on to Virginia Beach.

Norfolk–Portsmouth Bridge–Tunnel
The Norfolk–Portsmouth Bridge–Tunnel was a project to connect downtown Norfolk, Virginia, United States with downtown Portsmouth via a drawbridge over the Eastern Branch of the Elizabeth River and a tunnel under the Southern Branch. It opened on May 23, 1952, predating the area's better-known bridge–tunnel complexes: the Hampton Roads Bridge–Tunnel, opened in 1957; the Chesapeake Bay Bridge–Tunnel, opened in 1964; and the Monitor–Merrimac Memorial Bridge–Tunnel, opened in 1992.
Hampton Roads Naval Museum
The Hampton Roads Naval Museum is one of the 12 Navy museums that are operated by the Naval History & Heritage Command. It celebrates the long history of the U.S. Navy in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. It is co-located with the Nauticus National Maritime Center in downtown Norfolk, Virginia. In 2009, the Hampton Roads Naval Museum was accredited by the American Association of Museum Accreditation, the gold standard for museum accreditation.
The Homecoming (statue)
The Homecoming is a statue expressing the joy of reunion between a family when the sailor returns from a long period at sea. The statue honors the sacrifices made by families and members of all the sea services during long separations. The Homecoming was sculpted by Stanley Bleifeld, who also created the well known The Lone Sailor. The original work is located in the United States Navy Memorial, in Washington, DC.
Town Point Park
. Town Point Park is a 7-acre waterfront city park on the Elizabeth River in Norfolk, Virginia, USA. The park hosts major outdoor concerts, award-winning festivals and special events each year to include Norfolk Harborfest, Bayou Boogaloo, and 4th of July Celebrations. Norfolk Festevents programs Town Point Park on behalf of the City of Norfolk. Located in the park are The Homecoming and the Armed Forces Memorial.
Wisconsin Square
Wisconsin Square is a small park on Norfolk, Virginia's Elizabeth River waterfront, opposite the berth of the berth of the USS Wisconsin, a museum ship. The park contains memorials to the seamen were lost while serving on United States Navy ships homeported in Norfolk. The Square also contains the ship's bell of USS Norfolk (DL-1) and a copy of The Lone Sailor.
