T. C. Williams High School
T. C. Williams High School is a public high school in Alexandria, Virginia, named after former superintendent Thomas Chambliss Williams of Alexandria City Public Schools who served from the mid-1930s to the mid-1960s. It is located near the geographic center of the city, at 3330 King Street and is referred to informally as "T.C. " (rather than "Williams") by students, faculty and locals. Approximately 2,100 students from grades 10–12 are enrolled at T.C.

Thornton Friends School was a 6-12 Quaker school with three campuses, two in Silver Spring, Maryland, U.S.A. , and one in Alexandria, Virginia in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Bishop Ireton High School
Bishop Ireton High School is a Roman Catholic High School located in Alexandria, Virginia. The school was founded in 1964 by the Oblates of St. Francis DeSales, and named in honor of Peter Leo Ireton, Bishop of Richmond from 1945 to 1958. The school originally admitted only male students. Bishop Ireton, more commonly known as "BI" or simply "Ireton", became coeducational in 1990 after the closing of sister school, St. Mary's Academy.

It was founded in 2006 by faculty and staff from Thornton Friends School's Alexandria campus, which closed at the end of the 2005-2006 school year. The school will temporarily close its high school in 2012 and accept applicants for 6th and 7th grade only for the 2012-2013 school year.
Vaucluse (plantation)
Vaucluse was a plantation in Fairfax County, Virginia, three miles (5 km) from Alexandria and 10 miles from Washington, D.C. , on a hill near the Virginia Theological Seminary, that was owned first by Dr. James Craik, and later by the Fairfax family, the first being Thomas Fairfax, 9th Lord Fairfax of Cameron.
Fort Ellsworth
Fort Ellsworth was a timber and earthwork fortification constructed west of Alexandria, Virginia, as part of the defenses of Washington, D.C. during the American Civil War. Built in the weeks following the Union defeat at Bull Run, Fort Ellsworth was situated on a hill north of Hunting Creek, and Cameron Run, (which feeds into it).
Cameron Run
Cameron Run is a 3.0-mile-long tributary stream of the Potomac River, located in the U.S. state of Virginia. A third-order stream, it is formed by the confluence of Backlick Run and Holmes Run. It flows eastward from Alexandria and forms the border between Fairfax County and Alexandria before opening into Hunting Creek and then into the Potomac River.

Ivy Hill Cemetery
Ivy Hill Cemetery is a cemetery in Alexandria, Virginia, United States. Burials began in 1811, and it received a charter as a community cemetery in 1856. Buried at the cemetery are descendants of Thomas Jefferson, Bryan Fairfax, 8th Lord Fairfax of Cameron and Richard Bland Lee. Also buried there are Wernher von Braun, Fairfax Harrison, and Charles Creighton Carlin.
