The Depot is a 1200 capacity, four-story venue located in downtown Salt Lake City that is part of the Union Pacific Train Station. It is a 21-and-older venue with a patio for smoking. Although The Depot mainly hosts concerts, the venue also is available for corporate parties and private events with 17,000 square feet of banquet space available.

Originally planned to be a large development, containing several office and residential buildings (including the tallest buildings in Utah), the project was canceled after only two phases were completed. Utah State Fair
The Utah State Fair is held at the Utah State Fairpark in Salt Lake City. The fairgrounds are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The fair takes place each year starting on the first Thursday after Labor Day and lasts for 11 days. In 2012 the Fair was September 6–16, 2012. Gates opened at 10 a.m. daily and admission was $10 per adult, less for children.
