Downtown Salt Lake City
Downtown is the oldest district in Salt Lake City. The grid from which the entire city is laid out originates at Temple Square, the location of the Salt Lake Temple.
Geography of Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City is located in a large valley, the Salt Lake Valley, separated by the Wasatch Mountains to the east and the Oquirrh Mountains to the west. Salt Lake City is located at 40°45'17" North, 111°53'33" West (40.754700, -111.892622). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 285.9 km² (110.4 mi²). 282.5 km² (109.1 mi²) of it is land and 3.3 km² (1.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.17% water.
KCPW-FM
KCPW-FM is a public radio station in Salt Lake City, Utah which broadcasts programming from NPR, BBC, PRI, as well as local programming. It broadcasts from a studio at Library Square at the Salt Lake City Public Library in downtown Salt Lake City. It broadcasts at 88.3 MHz FM (KCPW-FM) in Salt Lake City, and 105.3 MHz FM (K287AE) in Holladay. The FM frequencies are both owned by Wasatch Public Media. KCPW-FM's transmitter is located atop the Wells Fargo Center in downtown Salt Lake City.
Utah Supreme Court
The Utah Supreme Court is the supreme court of the state of Utah. It has final authority of interpretation of the Utah Constitution. The Utah Supreme Court is composed of five members: a chief justice, an associate chief justice, and three justices. All justices are appointed by the governor of Utah, with confirmation by the Utah Senate. The justices vote amongst themselves for the chief justice and associate chief justice, who each serve a term of four years.
Gallivan Center
The Gallivan Center is an urban plaza in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. It opened in 1993. Also known as the John W. Gallivan Utah Center, it is named in honor of John W. Gallivan. An adjacent TRAX station takes its name from the plaza. The Station is served by the Blue and Green Lines. It was popular gathering place during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Kazuo Matsubayashi's Asteroid Landed Softly Sundial is one of the prominent features of the plaza.
Gallivan Plaza (UTA station)
Gallivan Plaza is a light rail station in Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, United States serviced by the Blue Line and Green Line of the Utah Transit Authority's (UTA) TRAX system. The Blue Line has service from the Salt Lake Intermodal Hub in Downtown Salt Lake City to Sandy, and soon to Draper. The Green Line has service from West Valley City to Downtown Salt Lake City, but extending soon to the Salt Lake International Airport.

Courthouse is a light rail station in Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, United States serviced by all three lines of Utah Transit Authority's TRAX light rail system. The Blue Line provides service from Downtown Salt Lake City to Sandy (extended to Draper beginning in August 2013). Terrace Ballroom
The Terrace Ballroom was a ballroom, located on 464 South Main Street, in Salt Lake City, Utah. During the 1930s, when it was called "Coconut Grove", there was no larger ballroom in the United States. Its name was originally changed in the 1940s to "Rainbow Rendezvous", before it settled in the 1950s to "Terrace Ballroom". When the Rainbow Rendezvous was taken over by the operators of Lagoon Amusement Park, a policy was in place excluding blacks; like the park itself, Robert E.
222 Main
222 Main is Utah’s first LEED Gold certified high-rise. The structure stands 22 stories high and is located at 222 South Main Street in Salt Lake City, Utah. The was constructed by Hamilton Partners and construction on the building was completed in December 2009. The building was facing serious occupancy issues, with the pre-lease rate remaining at around 25% but rates have since increased, especially with the largely publicized lease announcement of Goldman Sachs.
One Utah Center
One Utah Center is a skyscraper in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. It was built by the Boyer Company in 1991. The building has 24 floors with the 24th containing two conference rooms.
Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center
The Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center is a three-venue arts complex in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah that is home to modern dance companies, the Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation, Plan-B Theatre Company, and the Sundance Film Festival. It is part of the Salt Lake County Center for the Arts.
Pantages Theatre (Salt Lake City)
The Pantages Theatre is an historic theater in Salt Lake City, Utah in the United States of America. It opened in 1918 as the Pantages Theater, after the name of its owner, Alexander Pantages. Babe Ruth performed there in 1927. Abbott and Costello, Will Rogers, and many other celebrities also performed in the theater during its heyday. Formerly also known as the RKO Orpheum and later as the Utah Theater, it was built in 1918.
