Salt Lake County is a county located in the U.S. state of Utah. It had a population of 1,029,655 at the 2010 census. Its county seat and largest city is Salt Lake City, the state capital. It occupies the Salt Lake Valley, as well as parts of the surrounding mountains, the Oquirrh Mountains to the west and the Wasatch Range to the east. In addition, the Great Salt Lake is partially within the northwestern section of the county.

Oquirrh, Utah

Oquirrh was a census-designated place (CDP) in Salt Lake County, Utah, located on the slopes of the Oquirrh Mountains that gave it its name. As of the 2000 census, the CDP population was 10,390, a modest increase over the 1990 figure of 7,593. In 2000, Oquirrh was annexed by West Jordan.

Taylorsville is a city in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Salt Lake City, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 58,657 at the 2010 census. Taylorsville was incorporated from the Taylorsville-Bennion CDP and portions of the Kearns CDP on April 24, 1996. The city is located adjacent to interstate 215 and Bangerter Highway. It is centrally located in the middle of the Salt Lake Valley.

Salt Lake Valley

Salt Lake Valley is a 500-square-mile valley in Salt Lake County in the north-central portion of the U.S. state of Utah. West Jordan High School

West Jordan High School is a public high school founded in 1981. Located southwest of Salt Lake City in West Jordan, Utah, it is home of just over 2000 students. The men's varsity basketball team won the 2001 state championship, as well as the 2009 State championship against Lone Peak High School, the two-time defending champion. Utah Olympic Oval

The Utah Olympic Oval, an indoor speed skating oval built for the 2002 Winter Olympics, is located 14 miles southwest of Salt Lake City, in Kearns, Utah. Belle S. Spafford

Marion Isabelle Sims Smith Spafford (October 8, 1895 – February 2, 1982) was the ninth general president of the Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from April 6, 1945 until October 3, 1974. She served longer in this capacity than any other woman in the history of the Relief Society. Spafford was also the second counselor to president Amy B. Lyman from 1942 to 1945. Jordan Valley is a TRAX (light rail) light rail station with an island platform in West Jordan, Utah, United States. The station opened 7 August 2011 as part of the Red Line and is operated by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA). It is the closest station to the Bangerter Highway, and is the only TRAX station other than Draper with a parking structure (rather than a lot) for park-and-ride use. The construction site for a large transit oriented development is directly south of the station.
