Jim Wells County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, the population was 40,838. Its county seat is Alice. The county is named for James Babbage Wells Jr. , a political boss in southern Texas. The Alice Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Jim Wells County.
