Texas Southern University

Texas Southern University (shortened to Texas Southern, or simply TSU) is a historically black university (HBCU) located in Houston, Texas, United States accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The University was established in 1927 as the Houston Colored Junior College, through its private college phase as Houston Colored College. On March 3, 1947, the state declared this to be the first state university in Houston and it was renamed Texas State University for Negroes.

Cullen Performance Hall is a concert hall located on the campus of the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. The hall, comprising the eastern half of the E. Cullen Building, was named in honor of Ezekiel W. Cullen, a former congressman for the Republic of Texas.
