The city of Rossville was named after Cherokee Indian Chief John Ross, who resided there until being forced to relocate with his people to Oklahoma in the Indian Removal. Arthur MacArthur, Jr
Lieutenant General Arthur MacArthur, Jr. (June 2, 1845 – September 5, 1912), was a United States Army General. He became the military Governor-General of the American-occupied Philippines in 1900 but his term ended a year later due to clashes with the civilian governor, future President William Howard Taft. His son, Douglas MacArthur, was one of only five men ever to be promoted to the five-star rank of General of the Army.

Battle of Missionary Ridge
The Battle of Missionary Ridge was fought November 25, 1863, as part of the Chattanooga Campaign of the American Civil War. Fort Oglethorpe (Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia)
Fort Oglethorpe was an Army post established in 1902 and opened in 1904. It served largely as a cavalry post for the 6th Cavalry. During World War I Fort Oglethorpe was home to 4,000 German Prisoners of War and civilian detainees. During World War I and World War II, it became a war-time induction and processing center. During World War II, it was a major training center for the Women's Army Corps. The post was declared surplus after World War II and sold.
Missionary Ridge
Missionary Ridge is a geographic feature in Chattanooga, Tennessee, site of the Battle of Missionary Ridge, a battle in the American Civil War, fought on November 25, 1863. Union forces under Maj. Gens. Ulysses S. Grant, William T. Sherman, and George H. Thomas routed Confederate forces under General Braxton Bragg and lifted the siege of the city.
Engel Stadium
Engel Stadium is a stadium in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The stadium was built in 1930 and holds 12,000 people. It was the home of the Chattanooga Lookouts until 1999 when they moved to their current stadium, AT&T Field. Tennessee Temple University has held their home games at Engel since the Lookouts left. Engel Stadium was named for longtime President of the Chattanooga Lookouts, Joe Engel. The stadium is located at 1130 E.
Lake Winnepesaukah
Lake Winnepesaukah (nicknamed Lake Winnie) is an amusement park located on Lakeview Drive in Lakeview, Georgia near Chattanooga, Tennessee. Winnepesaukah means "beautiful water. " Carl and Minette Dixon opened the park to guests in 1925. The park is currently run by their granddaughter, Adrienne Rhodes, and her family.
Jones Observatory
Clarence T. Jones Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. It is located in Chattanooga, Tennessee (USA). The building was completed in 1936, and opened in 1938. Construction of the observatory and telescope were funded by a Public Works Administration grant for the students of Chattanooga's public schools at the urging of prominent local astronomer Clarence T. Jones.

Chattanooga Zoo at Warner Park
The Chattanooga Zoo at Warner Park (formerly the Warner Park Zoo) is a 13-acre zoological park located in Warner Park in Downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee. The zoo was established in 1937 by Colonel F. G. Oxley of Bridgeport, Alabama when he donated $500 to open the first public zoo in Chattanooga. The zoo is also accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
Reflection Riding Arboretum and Botanical Garden
Reflection Riding Arboretum and Botanical Garden (300 acres) is a nonprofit arboretum, botanical garden, and historical site located at 400 Garden Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee. The riding was created by John and Margaret Chambliss, and incorporated in 1956 to a vision laid out in the 1940s. It is dedicated to the study and conservation of native plant life. The riding contains over 1,000 species of flora, with over 150 tree species.

Cannon Ball (roller coaster)
The Cannon Ball roller coaster is a wooden roller coaster at Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park, Lakeview, Georgia, near Chattanooga, Tennessee. It was designed by John C. Allen and opened in 1967 as Lake Winnie's first roller coaster. It is one of three roller coasters at the park, the other two being Wild Lightnin', a steel roller coaster over the lake, and the Wacky Worm, a children's ride. The Cannon Ball is much bigger than the other two.

Brainerd Mission
The Brainerd Mission was a Christian mission to the Cherokee in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It was established by the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions in 1817 and named after David Brainerd. It ended with the Cherokee removal in 1838. People such as Ainsworth Blunt and Cephas Washburn worked at this mission. The Brainerd Mission Cemetery is one of the oldest in Hamilton County and consists of 60 graves, most of which are of missionary workers among the Cherokee.
