Deadwood, South Dakota
Deadwood is a city in South Dakota, United States, and the county seat of Lawrence County. It is named for the dead trees found in its gulch. The population was 1,270 according to the 2010 census. The city includes the Deadwood Historic District, a National Historic Landmark District, whose borders may be the city limits.

The Gem Theater was a saloon in Deadwood, South Dakota, owned by Al Swearengen. Swearengen and the Gem (as the Gem Saloon) are both portrayed in the HBO television show, Deadwood.
Nuttal & Mann's
Nuttal & Mann’s was a saloon located in Deadwood, southern Dakota Territory. It was noted for being the death-place of James Butler Hickok (better known as "Wild Bill" Hickok). It was later renamed the "No. 10 Saloon". The current No. 10 Saloon is not at the same location as the original Nuttal & Mann's.
Homestake experiment
The Homestake experiment (sometimes referred to as the Davis experiment) was an experiment headed by astrophysicists Raymond Davis, Jr. and John N. Bahcall in the late 1960s. Its purpose was to collect and count neutrinos emitted by nuclear fusion taking place in the Sun. Bahcall did the theoretical calculations and Davis designed the experiment. After Bahcall calculated the rate at which the detector should capture neutrinos, Davis's experiment turned up only one third of this figure.
Bullock Hotel
The historic Bullock Hotel is located at the corner of Wall and Main Street in Deadwood, South Dakota. It was built by Seth Bullock, the first sheriff of Deadwood, and his business partner Sol Star, in around 1895 at a cost of $40,000 and is the oldest hotel in Deadwood boasting a Casino, Restaurant, and 28 of its original 63 rooms.
Adams Museum & House
Adams Museum & House, was built in Deadwood, South Dakota, United States, in 1930 by Deadwood businessman and former mayor W.E. Adams as a tribute to the Black Hills pioneers and in remembrance of his deceased first wife and two daughters. The museum was a gift to the city of Deadwood and it remains city property to this day. It is located at 54 Sherman Street. Deadwood's Adams Museum is considered the Black Hills' oldest history museum.
