Newport is a Census-designated place in York County, South Carolina. Most of Newport is annexed into the city of Rock Hill, while parts are still located in York County, but Newport is still considered to be a CDP. The census of 2010 showed the population to be 4,136. During the 2000 Census, the population was 4,033.
Northwestern High School (Rock Hill, South Carolina)
Northwestern High School is one of three high schools in Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA. It was opened in 1971 as Rock Hill's second high school. Along with rival Rock Hill High School, it is one of the 16 largest schools in the state by enrollment, with about 1,791 students in grades 9–12. Northwestern offers the International Baccalaureate diploma. Presidential candidate Barack Obama spoke at Northwestern on October 6, 2007.
