Horry County is a county in the Pee Dee region of the U.S. state of South Carolina. It had a population of 269,291 at the 2010 census. It is located on approximately 100 miles north of Charleston, South Carolina and is approximately 150 miles east of the State Capital, Columbia, South Carolina. The County has a total area of 1,255 square miles, of which 1,134 square miles is land and 121 square miles (9.66%) is water. The highest point in the county is 124 ft. above sea level.
Bucksport, South Carolina
Bucksport is a census-designated place (CDP) in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 1,117 at the 2000 census. It is also a rural port on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway at the merger point with the Waccamaw River. The port has some services available for boaters, but the biggest draw for boaters and landlubbers alike is the Bucksport Restaurant.

It is the home of Coastal Carolina University. Numerous buildings and structures located in Conway are on the National Register of Historic Places. Among these is the City Hall building, reputedly designed by Robert Mills, architect of the Washington Monument.

Myrtle Beach Speedway
The Myrtle Beach Speedway, originally named Rambi Raceway, was built in 1958 and is located on U.S. Route 501 near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The speedway is a semi-banked asphaltic oval track that spans 0.538 miles . The NASCAR Busch Series raced at Myrtle Beach Speedway from 1988 to 2000. Currently the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series race on Saturday nights from April until November.

It was home to the Coastal Carolina University men's and women's basketball teams and the women's volleyball team through the 2011–12 season, but those teams will move to the new Student Recreation and Convocation Center in the fall of 2012. The arena hosted the 2010 & 2011 Big South Conference men's basketball tournament finals.

Brooks was a Loris, South Carolina native and was the chairman of Hooters of America, Inc. On October 7, 2006, the field was named James C.

WMBF-TV is the NBC-affiliated television station for the Grand Strand and Pee Dee areas of South Carolina that is licensed to Myrtle Beach. It broadcasts a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 32 from a transmitter in Bucksville. It can also be seen on Time Warner Cable channel 10 (analog), 120 (digital), and 1120 (HD). Owned by Raycom Media, the station has studios along U.S. 17 on Frontage Road East in Myrtle Beach as well as one off West Cheves Street in Florence.

It is home to the Coastal Carolina University men's and women's basketball teams and the women's volleyball teams. The arena replaced Kimbel Arena as Coastal Carolina's basketball and volleyball home. Horry Telephone Cooperative purchased the naming rights to the venue.
