Florence is a county located in the U.S. state of South Carolina. As of the 2010 census, its population was 136,885. Its county seat is Florence. The county's population is about 60% urban and it comprises part of the Florence Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county was formed from a section of the old Marion District in 1888.

Darlington is a small city in and the county seat of Darlington County, in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of South Carolina. It is a center for tobacco farming. The population was 6,289 at the 2010 census (12,066 total pop. of Darlington Urban Cluster in 2000) and is part of the Florence Metropolitan Statistical Area. Darlington, theorized to be named for the Revolutionary War Colonel Darlington, is known for its Darlington Oak and Spanish moss.

Darlington Raceway

Darlington Raceway is a race track built for NASCAR racing located near Darlington, South Carolina. It is nicknamed "The Lady in Black" and "The Track Too Tough to Tame" by many NASCAR fans and drivers and advertised as "A NASCAR Tradition. Florence Stockade

The Florence Stockade, also known as The Stockade or the Confederate States Military Prison at Florence, was a Confederate prisoner-of-war camp located on the outskirts of Florence, South Carolina, during the American Civil War.
