Centennial Exposition
The Centennial International Exhibition of 1876, the first official World's Fair in the United States, was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from May 10 to November 10, 1876, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia. It was officially the International Exhibition of Arts, Manufactures and Products of the Soil and Mine. It was held in Fairmount Park, along the Schuylkill River. The fairgrounds were designed by Herman J. Schwarzmann.

West Philadelphia
West Philadelphia, nicknamed West Philly, is a section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Though there is no official definition of its boundaries, it is generally considered to reach from the western shore of the Schuylkill River, to City Line Avenue to the northwest, Cobbs Creek to the southwest, and the SEPTA Media/Elwyn Line to the south. An alternate definition includes all city land west of the Schuylkill; this would also include Southwest Philadelphia and its neighborhoods.
Wynnefield Avenue (SEPTA station)
Wynnefield Avenue is a station along the SEPTA Cynwyd Line. The station, located at Wynnefield and Bryn Mawr Avenues, includes a 71-space parking lot.
Centennial Arboretum
Centennial Arboretum (27 acres) is an arboretum located at the Horticulture Center, Fairmount Park, at the southeast corner of Belmont and Montgomery Drives, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is open daily without charge. The arboretum contains specimen trees and shrubs from Asia, Europe, and North America. Many were planted in 1876 for the American Centennial Exposition. Nearby is a 13th century-style Japanese House and Garden brought to Philadelphia in 1956.
WDAS (AM)
WDAS (1480 AM) is a radio station licensed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The station airs an urban oldies format. At noon on November 23, 2011, the station flipped to its current format and returned to the locally historic WDAS call sign.
The Horticulture Center (Philadelphia)
The Horticultural Center in Philadelphia contains an arboretum, greenhouse, demonstration gardens, and a Japanese house and garden. It is located within Fairmount Park at the southeast corner of Belmont and Montgomery Drives, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The grounds are open daily except holidays, without charge. An admission fee is charged for the Japanese house.
Mill Creek, Philadelphia
Mill Creek is a neighborhood in the West Philadelphia section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It sits between 44th and 52nd Streets north of Market Street and south of Girard Avenue. It is named for the eponymous creek which was buried in a pipe in the 19th century. In 1961, the sewer collapsed, taking homes with it. The neighborhood was formerly home to Mill Creek Apartments, a public housing project designed by Louis Kahn in the early 1950s.
Dunlap, Philadelphia
The neighborhood of Dunlap is situated in present day West Philadelphia. The neighborhood lies in the vicinity of Haverford Avenue and Market Street and stretches from 46th to 52nd streets. (Philadelphia Almanac and Citizen's Manual). Dunlap is squeezed in between the neighborhoods of Mill Creek (West Philadelphia) and Haddington and situated just north of Walnut Hill (]. The neighborhood is named after the former historic Thomas Dunlap School that was restored into senior homes in 1991.
52nd Street (SEPTA station)
52nd Street Station is an elevated stop on the Market-Frankford Line, above the intersection of 52nd Street and Market Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The station lies at the junction of four neighborhoods. Haddington is to the northwest, Dunlap to the northeast, Walnut Hill lies to the southeast, and Cobbs Creek to the southwest. SEPTA bus route at 52nd Street include route 52. 52nd Street is a major shopping corridor.
46th Street (SEPTA station)
46th Street Station is an elevated stop on the Market-Frankford Line, above the intersection of Farragut (between 46th and 47th streets) and Market Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the Mill Creek neighborhood of West Philadelphia. 46th Street Station is one of the original Market-Frankford Elevated stations built by the Philadelphia Rapid Transit Company in 1907. Immediately east of the station, the trains go underground into the Market Street Subway.

Carroll Park, Philadelphia
Carroll Park is a neighborhood in West Philadelphia. Its boundaries are Lansdowne Avenue to the north, West Girard Avenue to the south, North 63rd Street to the west, and North 52nd Street to the east. Along major streets of the neighborhood, the Carroll Park Community Council, Inc. has placed banners that say “Carroll Park: Where our neighbors become friends. ” The 10 trolley runs along Lansdowne Avenue and the 15 trolley runs along Girard Avenue.
Callowhill Depot
Callowhill Depot is a bus and trolley barn operated by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, located in West Philadelphia, near the Delaware County border. It was built in 1913 by the Philadelphia Rapid Transit Company (PRT) and was later operated by the Philadelphia Transportation Company (PTC) before being taken over by SEPTA. The depot was constructed as part of the Thomas E. Mitten modernization program.

Its boundaries are North 52nd Street to the west and north, West Girard Avenue and the Old Cathedral Cemetery to the south, and the SEPTA regional rail tracks to the east. Lancaster Avenue (US 30) runs through the eastern portion of the neighborhood, parallel to the SEPTA tracks. SEPTA’s 10 trolley serves the neighborhood via Lancaster Avenue.

Shofuso was built in 1954 as a gift from Japan to American citizens, to symbolize post-war peace and friendship between the two countries.
