Mantua is a neighborhood in the West Philadelphia section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is located north of Spring Garden Street, east of 40th Street, south of Mantua Avenue, and west of 31st Street. The neighborhood's northern and western reaches are predominantly working-class and African American, although its southern border with Powelton Village has seen recent gentrification and an influx of Drexel University student renters.
Boathouse Row

It consists of a row of 15 boathouses housing social and rowing clubs and their racing shells. Daskalakis Athletic Center (DAC) is a 2,532-seat multi-purpose arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is home to the Drexel University Dragons basketball team. 36th Street Portal (SEPTA station)
The 36th Street Portal is a SEPTA Subway-Surface Lines trolley station. Just south of the corner of 36th and Market Streets (actually on the corner of 36th and Ludlow Streets), it is at this station that the 10 trolley of the Subway-Surface Lines goes into the tunnel after running on the street in West Philadelphia coming from the Overbrook section of Philadelphia. Trolleys run in the tunnel from this station to Center City Philadelphia.
Saunders Park, Philadelphia
Saunders Park is a neighborhood in the West Philadelphia section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is bounded by Powelton Avenue, 38th Street, Lancaster Avenue, and 40th Street. It is west of Powelton Village and north of Spruce Hill. It is named for the park at the northeast corner of 39th and Powelton Avenue. The Presbyterian Medical Center is next to the park. Saunders Park is often considered to be a part of West Powelton, which extends out to 42nd Street.

Much of the Harrisburg Subdivision is the High Line or West Philadelphia Elevated along 31st Street over the 30th Street Station area.

Monell conducts and publishes interdisciplinary basic research on taste, smell, and chemesthesis (chemically mediated skin senses, such as the burn of capsaicin or the tingle of carbonation).
Colossus Bridge
The Colossus Bridge – also known as Fairmount Bridge, Colossus of Fairmount or Upper Ferry Bridge (and formally as the Lancaster Schuylkill Bridge) – was a record-setting timber bridge across the Schuylkill River near Philadelphia. It was built in 1812 by Louis Wernwag, and was considered his finest bridge design. It had a clear span of 340 feet (contemporary US Record) and was the first long span bridge to use iron rods. The bridge was destroyed in 1838 by fire.
Turtle Rock Light
The Turtle Rock Light is a lighthouse built in 1887 to aid traffic on the Schuylkill River near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The lighthouse was constructed by Frank Thurwanger at a cost of $2,663 on an area of land just west of Boathouse Row. The lighthouse has a hexagonal lantern room with an octagonal walkway. Gas was first used to power the light, but in 1990, when the lighthouse was repainted and received a new wooden balustrade and newel posts, the beacon was electrified.

Spring Garden Street Bridge is a highway bridge in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, that crosses the Schuylkill River below Fairmount Dam. It connects West Philadelphia to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Benjamin Franklin Parkway. It is the fourth bridge at this location. Undine Barge Club
Undine Barge Club is an amateur rowing club located at #13 Boathouse Row in the historic Boathouse Row along the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The club was founded in 1856. Undine was not initially listed as a founder of the Schuylkill Navy, but is now considered a founder because an Undine member, Mr. B. F. Van dyke, was elected to represent the Club as secretary treasurer of the Navy from its birth in 1858.

As of the 2010–2011 school year, it became a Promise Academy, offering extra enrichments and reinvigorating the staff to provide a better education for students.
