Battle of Germantown
The Battle of Germantown, a battle in the Philadelphia campaign of the American Revolutionary War, was fought on October 4, 1777, at Germantown, Pennsylvania between the British army led by Sir William Howe and the American army under George Washington. The British victory in this battle ensured that Philadelphia, the capital of the self-proclaimed United States of America, would remain in British hands throughout the winter of 1777–1778.
La Salle University
La Salle University is a private, co-educational, Roman Catholic university located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S. Named for St. Jean-Baptiste de La Salle, the school was founded in 1863 by the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. Olney Transportation Center
The Olney Transportation Center (also called Olney Terminal) is a SEPTA bus terminal and the last Broad Street Line subway station before the Fern Rock Transportation Center terminus. Trains in the other direction go to South Philadelphia. It is located on Broad Street in the Olney neighborhood of Northern Philadelphia near Einstein Medical Center, La Salle University, Central High School, and the Philadelphia High School for Girls.

The station is in zone 1 on the Chestnut Hill East Line, on former Reading Railroad tracks, and is 6.8 track miles from Suburban Station. In 2004, this station saw 101 boardings on an average weekday. On May 28, 2009, SEPTA approved a $1.9 million dollar rehabilitation effort which will include Germantown station.

Hayman Center
The Hayman Center is the indoor athletic arena on La Salle University's campus. It is located directly across a walkway from the St. Francis and St. Edwards residence complex. The building was opened in February 1998 from a very large donation from Harry Blake Hayman I. The building was dedicated in the name of his parents, a plaque was placed on the front, inside beside the main doors. Located on the first floor of the building is the main gameday concourse and the six-lane, 25-yard pool area.
Nicetown-Tioga, Philadelphia
Nicetown-Tioga is a neighborhood in the North Philadelphia section of the city of Philadelphia, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It comprises two smaller, older neighborhoods, Nicetown and Tioga, although the distinction between the two is rarely emphasized today. The name "Nicetown" is often simply used to refer to any part of Nicetown-Tioga.
Midvale Steel
Midvale Steel was a succession of steel-making corporations whose flagship plant was the Midvale Steel Works at Nicetown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which operated from 1867 until 1976. The company was most notable for producing high-quality steels and for providing the casting, forging, and machining needed to use them in special applications such as heavy artillery; steam turbines; naval armor plate; and pressure vessels for use in chemical plants.
Newtown Junction
Newtown Junction is the rail junction point where the Newtown Branch joins the SEPTA Main Line. The Warminster Line, West Trenton Line, and Lansdale/Doylestown Line all continue north toward Fern Rock along the old Reading trunk while the Fox Chase heads east toward Olney. North of Fox Chase, the line crossed over the West Trenton Line between the Meadowbrook and Bethayres stations and had its terminus in Newtown, hence the name Newtown Junction.

SEPTA's 25 Hz traction power system
SEPTA operates a 25 Hz traction power system in the vicinity of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that it inherited from the Reading Railroad. This system is separate but similar to the system designed by the Pennsylvania Railroad, which is now operated by Amtrak. SEPTA's trains can run over either system because the voltage and frequency presented to the locomotive are essentially identical. However, the ex-Reading system is not electrically connected to the ex-PRR system.
Fishers (SEPTA station)
Fishers is an abandoned train station adjacent to Logan Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The station was a stop on the Reading Railroad's Chestnut Hill Line. It later became a part of SEPTA's R7 Chestnut Hill East line. The station was closed in 1992 for the RailWorks project and not reopened due to low ridership. Fishers Station's shelters still stand, though the stairs to access them from street level and the underpass from one platform to another have been fenced off.
