Swarthmore College

Swarthmore College is a private, highly selective liberal arts college in the United States with an enrollment of about 1,500 students. The college is located in the borough of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, 11 miles (17.7 km) southwest of Philadelphia. Founded in 1864, Swarthmore was one of the earliest coeducational colleges in the United States. The school was organized by a committee of Quakers prominent in the abolitionist and women's rights movements, including notable activist Lucretia Mott.

Many residents refer to the township by the name of its largest community, Wallingford, because the Wallingford postal code is used for most of the township. WSRN-FM

Strath Haven High School is a four-year public high school in Wallingford, Delaware County, Pennsylvania serving the Township of Nether Providence and the Boroughs of Rose Valley, Rutledge, and Swarthmore, as well as the communities of South Media, Garden City, and sections of Morton. Wallingford (SEPTA station)

Wallingford is a railway station along the SEPTA Media/Elwyn Line, the former Pennsylvania Railroad West Chester Line. It is located at Kershaw Road and Possum Hollow Road (although SEPTA gives the address as "Kershaw Avenue"), Wallingford, Pennsylvania. In 1855, when the rail line was extended (to Media) through Wallingford, passing and freight sidings were built at the location.

Nether Providence High School

Nether Providence High School was a four-year public high school in Wallingford, Pennsylvania serving the Township of Nether Providence and the Boroughs of Rose Valley, South Media, Garden City, and sections of Morton. The school became Strath Haven High School when it merged with Swarthmore High School in 1984. Swarthmore students were moved to Nether Providence High School. Nether Providence High School was a part of the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District.
