The Veterans Bridge is a steel and welded girder bridge that carries Interstate 579 over the Allegheny River in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The bridge, 1,050 feet in length, has a main span of 410 feet and is 51 feet above the water. The roadway atop the structure is eight lanes wide, with six lanes dedicated to northbound and southbound traffic (three per direction) and two lanes designed for reversible High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV-2) movements. The bridge is also designated "pghe585-17".

North Catholic High School
North Catholic High School is a private Catholic high school located on Troy Hill on the Northside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The school's mascot is the Trojan and its colors are scarlet and gold. North Catholic High School began as an all-boys school in 1939, founded by Bishop Hugh Charles Boyle of the Diocese of Pittsburgh and the Marianists. Girls began enrolling in the school in 1973. North Catholic has over 12,000 alumni world-wide.
30th Street Bridge
The 30th Street Bridge, is a girder bridge that carries vehicular traffic across the Allegheny River between the Pittsburgh neighborhoods of Troy Hill and Herrs Island (known by the moniker of Washington's Landing). This is the fourth bridge that has stood on this site. A wooden 19th Century bridge was washed away during an 1882 flood.
Frank Curto Park
Frank Curto Park is a sculpture-filled city park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, between Downtown and Polish Hill, alongside Bigelow Boulevard. The park contains a collection of works by contemporary urban artists and a flock of wild turkeys which begain to occupy the park and surrounding hillside. It was named for Frank Curto, one of the city's longtime horticulturists.
Great Fire of Pittsburgh
The Great Fire of Pittsburgh, which occurred on April 10 1845, destroyed a third of the city with damages estimated in the millions, perhaps tens of millions of dollars. While having little effect on the culture of the city except to spur further growth, it would provide a temporal reference point for the remainder of the century and beyond.
