The 2007 United States Open Championship was the 107th U.S. Open, played from June 14 to June 17 at Oakmont Country Club. The U.S. Open returned to Oakmont for the first time since 1994 when Ernie Els captured his first major championship. Ángel Cabrera won the championship after Jim Furyk and Tiger Woods were unable to birdie the 72nd hole to force a playoff. Cabrera's victory marked the first U.S. Open championship won by an Argentine or a South American.

BladeRunners Ice Complex
BladeRunners Ice Complex is a group of ice hockey rinks and sports facilities in Western Pennsylvania. The BladeRunner location opened in Harmarville, Pennsylvania in 1992; it was the first twin-ice facility in the Pittsburgh region. Two other locations opened in Warrendale, Pennsylvania in 1994 and in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania in 1995. The Harmarville location gained a third rink in 2003.

The 1994 U.S. Open was the 94th U.S. Open. The golf tournament was held June 16–20, 1994, at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, a suburb northeast of Pittsburgh. Ernie Els won his first major title on the second sudden-death hole to defeat Loren Roberts, after Colin Montgomerie was eliminated in an 18-hole playoff. Els shot a third-round 66 to take a two-shot lead going into the final round. At the start of the round, Els was the beneficiary of a controversial ruling.

The 1983 U.S. Open was the 83rd U.S. Open. The golf tournament was held June 16–20, 1983, at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, a suburb northeast of Pittsburgh. Larry Nelson won his first U.S. Open with a score of 280, one stroke ahead of defending champion Tom Watson. Watson and Seve Ballesteros shared the 54-hole lead, with Larry Nelson a stroke back. Nelson was 7-over after four holes in his third round, but then finished in 7-under to get within a shot of the lead.
