Allegheny County, Pennsylvania
Allegheny County is a county in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,223,348; making it the second most populous county in Pennsylvania, following Philadelphia County. The county seat is Pittsburgh. The Hill District is a collection of neighborhoods that is considered by many to be the cultural center of African-American life in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, an American city. Harlem Renaissance poet Claude McKay once called the district "the crossroads of the world," referring to the neighborhood's heyday in the 1930s–1950s. It is known to many Pittsburghers as simply "The Hill.
Pitt Stadium
Pitt Stadium was a stadium located on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania from 1925 to 1999. It served primarily as the home of the University of Pittsburgh's football team, the Pittsburgh Panthers. Carlow University is a Roman Catholic university founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, on September 24, 1929, by the Sisters of Mercy from Carlow, Ireland. The building was completed for $1.2 million($ million today) in October, 1955. The seven floor building connects Allen Hall and Thaw Hall, as well as the which was added later. The frieze around the top of the building includes bas-relief of the insignia of several engineering societies.

The building was designed in the brutalist style by the architectural firm of Deeter, Ritchey, and Sippel and completed in 1971 at a cost of $15 million ($ million today). The Clemente Museum
The Roberto Clemente Museum is a private American museum honoring Roberto Clemente (1934–1972), the Major League Baseball right fielder and Hall of Famer. It is located at 3339 Penn Avenue in the former Enginehouse No. 25, on Doughboy Square, in the Lawrenceville section of in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where Clemente played for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The museum, which opened in 2007, is operated by Duane Reider with support from the Clemente family.

30th Street Bridge
The 30th Street Bridge, is a girder bridge that carries vehicular traffic across the Allegheny River between the Pittsburgh neighborhoods of Troy Hill and Herrs Island (known by the moniker of Washington's Landing). This is the fourth bridge that has stood on this site. A wooden 19th Century bridge was washed away during an 1882 flood.

Frank Curto Park
Frank Curto Park is a sculpture-filled city park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, between Downtown and Polish Hill, alongside Bigelow Boulevard. The park contains a collection of works by contemporary urban artists and a flock of wild turkeys which begain to occupy the park and surrounding hillside. It was named for Frank Curto, one of the city's longtime horticulturists.
Great Fire of Pittsburgh
The Great Fire of Pittsburgh, which occurred on April 10 1845, destroyed a third of the city with damages estimated in the millions, perhaps tens of millions of dollars. While having little effect on the culture of the city except to spur further growth, it would provide a temporal reference point for the remainder of the century and beyond.
