The Mall at Robinson
The Mall at Robinson is a two-level, enclosed super-regional shopping mall located just off the Parkway West and PA Route 60 in Robinson Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, five minutes east of the Pittsburgh International Airport and 15 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. Opened in October 2001, it consists of 872,000 square feet of retail space and sits on over 200 acres .
Robinson Town Centre
Robinson Town Centre is an expansive, open-air power center located near The Mall at Robinson in Robinson Township, Pennsylvania. Announced on June 28, 1987 and completed in 1988, it is situated nearly 15 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh along the Parkway West and Route 60. Robinson Town Centre spurred development of the shopping districts in the western hills of Allegheny County. The mall and town center serve as the main shopping district for residents of Pittsburgh's Airport Area.
The Pointe at North Fayette
The Pointe at North Fayette is a retail development about 15 minutes west of downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in North Fayette Township. The Pointe is unique in that it has an exit off one of Pittsburgh's busiest highways, I-376/US 22/US 30 (known locally as the Parkway West). The Pointe is located about seven miles from the entrance of the Pittsburgh International Airport. A bridge over I-376 connects The Pointe to The Mall at Robinson and Robinson Town Centre.
TWA Flight 400
On April 1, 1956, a Martin 4-0-4, registration #N40403, operating as TWA Flight 400, crashed on takeoff from Greater Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). Twenty-two of the 36 people aboard the aircraft, including one crewmember, perished in the crash. Flight 400 was to be an IFR flight to Newark International Airport (EWR) in Newark, NJ. On this particular flight, the first officer was in the left seat, as he was being line-checked by the captain.
Settler's Cabin Park
Settler's Cabin Park is a 1,610-acre county park in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is a part of the county's 12,000 acre (49 km²) network of nine distinct parks. It is sited 15 miles west of downtown Pittsburgh in Collier, North Fayette, and Robinson Townships. Archaeologists from Carnegie Museum of Natural History helped identify the 1780s log house that gives the park its name. The themes of the 11 picnic groves are Indian names: Algonquin, Seneca, Apache, Tomahawk, etc.
