University of Portland

The University of Portland (UP) is a private Roman Catholic university located in Portland, Oregon, United States. It is affiliated with the Congregation of Holy Cross, which also founded UP's sister school the University of Notre Dame. Founded in 1901, UP has a student body of about 3,600 students. It is widely known for its women's soccer program, which won the 2002 and 2005 Division I NCAA Women's Soccer Championships. UP is ranked 6th in the west for Regional Universities by U.S.

Vanport City, Oregon

Vanport City was a hastily constructed city of public housing located in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States, between the contemporary Portland city boundary and the Columbia River. It is currently the site of Delta Park and the Portland International Raceway. It was constructed in 1943 to house the workers at the wartime Kaiser Shipyards in Portland and Vancouver, Washington.

E. Henry Wemme

E. Henry Wemme (1861–1914) was a wealthy businessman in Portland, in the U.S. state of Oregon. He was an active business investor during the pioneering era of automobiles and aviation. A farmer's son born in the village of Crostau, Kingdom of Saxony, Germany as Ernest Heinrich Wemme, he had only a grade-school education. Chiles Center

Portland International Raceway

Portland International Raceway (PIR) is located in Portland, Oregon, USA's, Delta Park complex on the former site of Vanport, just south of the Columbia River. Balch Creek is a 3.5-mile tributary of the Willamette River in the U.S. state of Oregon.
