Marietta College
Marietta College is a co-educational liberal arts private college in historic Marietta, Ohio, USA, which was the first permanent settlement of the Northwest Territory. The school offers 44 majors along with a large number of minors, all of which are grounded in a strong liberal arts foundation. The school encompasses approximately three city blocks next to downtown Marietta and enrolls 1,435 full-time students.
Buckley Island
Buckley Island is an island on the Ohio River in Wood County, West Virginia between Marietta, Ohio and Williamstown, West Virginia. The Interstate 77 bridge over the Ohio crosses the island's western portion. Throughout its history, Buckley Island has also been known as Kerrs Island and Meigs Island. The island is a part of the Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge and can only be accessed by boat. The Muskingum River empties into the Ohio River just below Buckley Island.

This four-lane cantilever bridge carries Interstate 77 between Williamstown, West Virginia and Marietta, Ohio. The bridge was completed in 1967 and it was rehabilitated in 2003.

Picketed Point Stockade
Picketed Point Stockade was the last of three fortifications built at Marietta, Ohio. This defensive stockade was built by pioneers during the Northwest Indian War in 1791 on the east side of the mouth of the Muskingum River at its confluence with the Ohio River, and directly across the Muskingum from Fort Harmar. Colonel William Stacy superintended the construction of the stockade under direction of Colonel Ebenezer Sproat.
