Oberlin College

Oberlin High School (Ohio)

Oberlin High School is a public high school located in Oberlin, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Oberlin City Schools district. The school colors are red, white and dark blue. The mascot is the Phoenix, after the school board recently voted to discontinue use of the Native American mascot, effective at the end of the 2006-07 school year. The school's fight song is the Iowa Fight Song.

Weltzheimer/Johnson House

The Weltzheimer/Johnson House is a Usonian style house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in Oberlin, Ohio. It is now owned by Oberlin College and is operated as part of the Allen Memorial Art Museum. The house was originally named the Charles Weltzheimer Residence.

Adam Joseph Lewis Center for Environmental Studies

The Adam Joseph Lewis Center for Environmental Studies, located on the campus of Oberlin College, is one of the most advanced examples of Green building in the United States. Construction crews completed work on the building in January 2000. The following semester, classes in conservation biology, environment and society, sustainable agriculture, ecological design, environmental education, physical geology, and solar energy were held in the center.

Apollo Theatre (Oberlin, Ohio)

The Apollo Theatre opened in Oberlin, Ohio, in 1913. Like many theaters at the time, it was used primarily for vaudeville acts. The films that were shown were usually silent, the exception being when an organ would accompany the film. In 1928, the Apollo got its first “Talkie”, and from that point on, a new appreciation for cinema started to grow in the town of Oberlin.

Allen Memorial Art Museum

The Allen Memorial Art Museum (abbreviated 'AMAM') is located in Oberlin, Ohio and is run by Oberlin College. Founded in 1917, its collection is one of the finest of any college or university museum in the United States, consistently ranking among those of Harvard and Yale. The collection contains over 12,000 works of art. The AMAM is primarily a teaching museum, and it is a vital cultural resource for the students, faculty, and staff of Oberlin College as well as the surrounding community.
