The Oxcart Library is considered to be the first circulating public library in the history of the Western Reserve. The library is located in the city of North Olmsted, Ohio. Captain Aaron Olmstead, a wealthy sea captain in the China trade out of New England, was one of 49 investors who formed a syndicate in 1795 to purchase a major part of the Western Reserve from Connecticut. All Pro Freight Stadium is a baseball park in Avon, Ohio. It is the home of the Lake Erie Crushers, a Frontier League team that began play in 2009. The ballpark has a capacity of 5,000 people and opened on June 2, 2009, with the Crushers defeating the Windy City Thunderbolts, 5-2. The naming rights to the ballpark are owned by an Avon-based transportation, warehouse, and distribution company called All Pro Freight Systems Inc.

Great Northern Theatre
The Great Northern Theatre opened on March 24, 1966 in the Great Northern Plaza Shopping Center at 26315 Brookpark Road in North Olmsted, Ohio. In the Greater Cleveland area the Great Northern Theatre was notable because it was the only theater built to show Cinerama presentations, unlike some of the other theaters that converted to Cinerama. This theater could show Ultra Panavision 70 single lens Cinerama and CinemaScope presentations; on its huge curved 90-foot screen.
