Sand Ridge Golf Club
Sand Ridge Golf Club, was designed by Tom Fazio and is located in Munson Township, Geauga County, Ohio, near Chardon. Construction on the course started in late 1995 and opened for its private members on May 18, 1998. The course was built on 370 acres of woods, pastures and wetlands located next to the Fairmount Minerals sandstone quarry in Chardon. It also contains the headwaters of both the Chagrin and Cuyahoga rivers.

Grand River (Fairport Harbor) Light
The Grand River (Fairport Harbor) Light is located in the village of Fairport Harbor, Ohio. The lighthouse was built in 1871 and has a 60 foot tower with a detached keeper's house. The light was decommissioned in 1925, replaced by the Fairport Harbor West Breakwater Light. At one time the Coast guard considered using the keeper's house to house their personnel and demolish the tower but a letter writing campaign by local residents prevented it from happening.

CSX Bridge (Painesville, Ohio)
The CSX Painesville bridge is a concrete viaduct located just outside city limits in Painesville Township in northeast Ohio. It is about 350 feet long and 100 feet above the Grand River. The bridge was built in 1908 for the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway. It has served the Lake Shore, New York Central, Penn Central, Conrail, and its current owner CSX. An average 50 trains daily cross the span, including two Amtrak Lake Shore Limited trains, no. 48 and 49.

Alpine Valley Ski Area
Alpine Valley Ski Area is a ski resort located in Munson Township, Ohio, east of Chesterland. It was built in 1965 under the direction of Thomas D. Apthorp, who then continued to operate and manage the resort until 2007. It is located in Ohio's snow belt, allowing it to receive the most natural snowfall out of all of Ohio's ski resorts.
Chardon High School shooting
The Chardon High School shooting occurred on February 27, 2012, at Chardon High School in Chardon, Ohio, United States. Three male students died within the two days following the incident. Two other students were hospitalized: one of whom sustained several serious injuries requiring extensive rehabilitation, the other with a minor injury. The seriously injured victim will use a wheelchair for life. A sixth student sustained a superficial wound.
