It is named for Charles Doak, who was the head coach of the NC State baseball team from 1924–1939. The stadium is located on NC State's Central Campus, behind Lee and Sullivan residence halls.

Cloud Chamber for the Trees and Sky
Cloud Chamber for the Trees and Sky is an outdoor exhibit by Chris Drury located in the museum park of the North Carolina Museum of Art. The chamber itself is a round building built of stone, wood, and turf with a single door to admit the viewer. It is light-tight when its door is closed, except for one small, round opening in its roof which allows the building to act as a camera obscura.

The Brewery was a 300-capacity music venue located on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Brewery was opened in 1983 by Kenny Hobby. The Brewery had long been a stop for up-and-coming touring acts, as well as established acts with a somewhat diminished fan base.

Cardinal Gibbons High School (CGHS), best known as Gibbons, is a private coeducational college-preparatory Catholic high school in Raleigh, North Carolina. Cardinal Gibbons and St. Thomas More Academy are the only Catholic high schools in Raleigh, and two of three high schools in the Diocese. Cardinal Gibbons was founded in 1909 and has an enrollment of about 1,225 students. There are 79 faculty members, 70 percent of whom possess at least a master's degree or higher.
Raleigh School
The Raleigh School is an independent, non-sectarian, coeducational day school located in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, serving students from 18 months through fifth grade. Its forerunner, Raleigh Preschool, was established in 1952 and received a state charter in 1955. The current name, The Raleigh School, was adopted in 1992, and the K-5 program was added in 1993. For the 2009-2010 school year, there were 180 students in the preschool program.

Soleil Center
The Soleil Center was a 43-story skyscraper and condo-hotel planned for Raleigh, North Carolina. The 480 ft (146 m) building was to be located next to the Crabtree Valley Mall on Glenwood Avenue just north of the I-440 beltline, in an area variously known as "Midtown Raleigh" or "Uptown Raleigh". The Soleil Center was intended to be the second tallest building in Raleigh and in the Triangle region. The PNC Plaza building in downtown Raleigh is the tallest.

The West Raleigh Historic District in Raleigh, North Carolina is a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Located 1.5 miles (2.41 km) west-northwest of the State Capitol, the district encompasses approximately 332 acres . Neighborhoods in the district include: Bedford Heights, Bagwell, Blue Moon Ridge, College Crest (now known as Stanhope), Fairmont, Forest Hills, Harris-Chamberlain, and Wilmont.
NC State University (Lot 86, Farm Unit 1)
NC State University (Lot 86, Farm Unit 1) is a Superfund site in Raleigh, North Carolina located to the north of Carter-Finley Stadium. It is a 1.5-acre site that was used from 1969 until 1980 to dispose of hazardous waste from laboratories and research facilities. The North Carolina State University Department of Marine, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences began monitoring the site in 1981, drilling wells and sampling the groundwater.
