North Carolina Supreme Court
The Supreme Court of North Carolina is the state's highest appellate court. Until the creation of the North Carolina Court of Appeals in the 1960s, it was the state's only appellate court. The Supreme Court consists of six associate justices and one chief justice, although the number of justices has varied from time to time. The primary function of the Supreme Court is to decide questions of law that have arisen in the lower courts and before state administrative agencies.
North Carolina Theatre
North Carolina Theatre is a professional theatre located in Raleigh, North Carolina. They perform four mainstage shows each year at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium in the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts. It was founded by De Ann S. Jones and is currently managed by Lisa Grele Barrie, the executive director of the company.
Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts
The Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts is the main venue for the performing arts in Raleigh, North Carolina. The naming rights to the center currently are held by Progress Energy, which purchased them from the city in 2005 for a 20-year term at the cost of $7.5 million. The original naming rights previously were held by BTI Telecom (acquired by ITC^DeltaCom in 2003), and the facility was known as the BTI Center for the Performing Arts from 1997-2005.
Raleigh (Amtrak station)
The Raleigh Amtrak Station, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, is served by three passenger trains, the Silver Star, Piedmont and Carolinian. The Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law (also known as Campbell Law School or Campbell University School of Law) is a private law school in Raleigh, North Carolina. Founded in 1976, the law school is one of six graduate programs offered by Campbell University. The school is named after its founder, Norman Adrian Wiggins, former President and Chancellor of Campbell University, and creator of the institution's law division.
Union Station (Raleigh, North Carolina)
The Union Station in Raleigh, North Carolina was constructed in 1890 by the Raleigh and Gaston Railroad, a predecessor of the Seaboard Air Line, at the corner of Dawson and West Martin streets. It also served the original Norfolk Southern Railway and the Southern Railway, with a total of four tracks. Being a stub-end station, Union Station was inconvenient to operate. Seaboard built a new run-through station for itself in 1942, as did Southern in 1950.

Raleigh Convention Center
The Raleigh Convention Center is a convention and exhibition facility in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina that opened in September 2008. The lead architect was Obrien/Atkins Associates. Located at 500 South Salisbury Street, the three-level 500,000-square-foot building contains an 150,000-square-foot exhibit hall, twenty meeting rooms and a 32,000-square-foot ballroom. The ballroom on the highest level can seat up to 2,715 persons (banquet-style) or 3,630 persons (theater-style).
Leonard Hall (Shaw University)
Leonard Hall is a historic educational building located on the campus of Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Built in 1881 and originally named Leonard Medical Center (then Leonard Medical School), Leonard Hall was established when medical schools were professionalizing. It was the first medical school for African-Americans in the United States to offer a four-year curriculum, as well as the first four-year medical school in North Carolina.
Fayetteville Street Historic District
The Fayetteville Street Historic District in Raleigh, North Carolina is a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The District includes the 100-400 blocks of Fayetteville Street, the 00-100 blocks of the south side of West Hargett Street, the 00 block of the north side of West Martin Street, and the 100-400 blocks of South Salisbury Street. The District, composed mostly of commercial establishments, is home to eleven buildings listed on the NRHP.
Depot Historic District (Raleigh, North Carolina)
The Depot Historic District is an industrial and commercial neighborhood in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina that was the city's railroad and warehouse distribution hub from the 1850s to 1950s. Located two blocks west of Fayetteville Street and to the north and east of the Norfolk and Southern railroad tracks, the district contains four blocks of 35 brick buildings that date from the 1880s to early 1950s.
Saint Mary's School (Raleigh, North Carolina)
Saint Mary's School (formerly Saint Mary's College) is a private, four-year female boarding school serving grades 9-12 in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is operated as an independent school, but has an historic association with the Episcopal Church and has an episcopal chapel, St. Mary's Chapel, on the school's grounds. The school formerly operated as Saint Mary's College and educated girls in grades 11-12 and their freshman and sophomore years in college.
PNC Plaza (Raleigh)
PNC Plaza, formerly known as RBC Plaza, is the largest and tallest skyscraper in the city of Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. The tower rises to a height of 538 feet and is situated on a 0.83-acre lot housing approximately 730,000 square feet of office and retail space, parking and residential condominiums. The building at the corner of Fayetteville Street, Martin Street, and Wilmington Streets served as corporate headquarters for RBC Bank (formerly RBC Centura), the U.S.
Exploris Middle School
Exploris Middle School is a Wake County public charter school founded in 1998 for the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. Originally located in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina across from Moore Square Park, in 2009 the school moved to a new location on Hillsborough Street a few blocks from the Capital. Exploris`s address is 401 Hillsborough st. Raleigh NC 27603. The Exploris curriculum is interdisciplinary and theme-based.
Central Prison
Central Prison is a prison operated by the North Carolina Department of Correction (NCDOC) in Raleigh, North Carolina. The prison, west of Downtown Raleigh, is on 29 acres of land and is bounded by a double wire fence with a razor ribbon on top. NCDOC describes the original building as "castle-like. " Inmates built the prison for 14 years, and granite quarried from an area outside of what would become the east wall of the prison was used to build the facility.
Red Hat Amphitheater
The Red Hat Amphitheater (formerly the Raleigh Amphitheater) is a performing arts amphitheatre in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is adjacent to the Raleigh Convention Center, which is owned and operated by City of Raleigh; bookings at the venue are managed by Live Nation. The Raleigh Amphitheater has showcased acts like Maroon 5, Stone Temple Pilots, Vampire Weekend, Paramore, Chelsea Handler, Furthur, Heart, Barenaked Ladies and the North Carolina Symphony.

Completed in 1990, it was one of the downtown Raleigh's two tallest buildings for nearly twenty years, and is currently third tallest.
Hillyer Memorial Christian Church (Raleigh, North Carolina)
Hillyer Memorial Christian Church is a historic church in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina located on Hillsborough Street. The church is affiliated with the Disciples of Christ. The current church was built in 1915. The church is named after the Hillyer family, who were patrons of the church and kept the church from going bankrupt during the Great Depression and the World Wars. The church is under the jurisdiction of the Church of the Disciples of Christ in North Carolina.
Two Progress Plaza
Two Progress Plaza is a skyscraper in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was completed in 2004 at a cost of $100 million as a headquarters for Progress Energy Inc and has 19 floors and 366,000 square feet of space. It is owned by J.P. Morgan Trust Co. In 1999, Carolina Power & Light announced plans for a new headquarters tower. The 2000 merger with Florida Progress Corporation which created Progress Energy increased the need for the new building, which at the time had an estimated cost of $60 million.
Capital Bank Plaza
Capital Bank Plaza is a skyscraper in Raleigh, North Carolina which houses the headquarters of Capital Bank. Formerly known as 333 Corporate Plaza, the 15-story building at 333 Fayetteville Street has 135,000 square feet of space and is an "outstanding example of International Style modernism" and "features black granite on the facade with polished green marble, black granite, and cherry paneling in the lobby. " Emery Roth designed the building, built in 1964.
One Progress Plaza (Raleigh, North Carolina)
One Progress Plaza is a skyscraper in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was completed in 1977 as a headquarters for Carolina Power & Light and has 21 floors and 440,000 square feet of space. It is owned by Hawthorn Associates. Former names include Center Plaza, CP&L Building, and Progress Energy Building. In 1999, Carolina Power & Light announced plans for a new headquarters tower. The 2000 merger with Florida Progress Corporation which created Progress Energy increased the need for the new building.
