Carpenter, North Carolina
Carpenter is a small community located in western Wake County, North Carolina. Carpenter is centered around the intersection of Carpenter-Upchurch Road and Morrisville-Carpenter Road just east of North Carolina Highway 55. Most of Carpenter has been annexed by the Town of Cary. The community was named for William Carpenter, the first settler in the area in 1865 {{#invoke:Footnotes | harvard_citation }}. Carpenter was a stop on the former Durham and Southern Railway.

The Cary Parkway (SR 3977) is a major semi-circular route through Cary, North Carolina. The parkway serves approximately as Cary's outer ring highway, though it does not form a complete circle like the inner ring, Maynard Road. Viewing a map of the city as a clock-face, Cary Parkway extends counterclockwise approximately from the 1 o'clock position in the northeast down to the 5 o'clock position in the southeast.
