Bryson City is a town in Swain County, North Carolina in the United States. The population was 1,353 as of 2009, a decrease of 4.1% since the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Swain County.
Kituwa
The Cherokee believe the ancient settlement of Kituwa (also spelled Kituwah, Keetoowah, Kittowa, and other similar variations) or giduwa, on the Tuckasegee River is their original settlement and is one of the "seven mother towns" in the Southeast.
