Mecklenburg County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The population of Mecklenburg County is 969,031 people (as of the 2012 census estimate), making it both the most populated and densely populated county in North Carolina. Its county seat and largest city is Charlotte.
Northlake Mall (Charlotte)
Northlake Mall is an upscale shopping mall located eight miles (13 km) north of center city Charlotte, North Carolina off of Interstate 77 at exit 18, Harris Blvd, and off of Interstate 485 at exit 21 Harris Blvd and owned by upscale mall company Taubman Centers. In 2005, when Northlake Mall opened, it filled a void for the lack of retail in the northern portion of Mecklenburg County.
Irwin Belk Track and Field Center/Transamerica Field
The Irwin Belk Track and Field Center/Transamerica Field is a stadium located on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Finished in 1996, the stadium is home to the 49ers soccer and track and field teams. The facility includes the Southeast's first 8 lane continuous radius track with full-depth polyurethane surface; and 10,500 square feet of internal space including coaches offices, locker rooms and a hospitality suite in the North Pavilion.
Garinger High School
Garinger High School (or simply, Garinger) is a high school located in the Shamrock area of Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded in 1959, it was one of the oldest remaining schools in Charlotte. Garinger was in essence the relocation of Central High School, Charlotte's first high school. That school was founded in 1909 as Charlotte High School and renamed Central High in 1923.
North Mecklenburg High School
North Mecklenburg High School is a high school in Huntersville, in the U.S. state of North Carolina. Founded in 1951, it was integrated in the 1960s. Metrolina Speedway
Metrolina Speed and Sport Center is an auto racing track located in northeast Charlotte, North Carolina on the Metrolina Fairgrounds. The track currently is being rebuilt with the 1/2-mile now paved. The plan for the rebuild also adds a Go-Kart track, outdoor RC racing track, a hotel, roof-top state park and more. The track, also known as Charlotte Fairgrounds Speedway and Metrolina Speedway, is 1/2 mile (.804 km) in length and has a clay surface.

The Derita Community is located several miles north of Charlotte NC's center city, is bordered by I-77 to the west, I-85 to the east, the University area and WT Harris Blvd to the north. Its business district is centered along West Sugar Creek Rd. Even before the Community became established with stores, a school and churches in 1860, Derita was a made up of large family farms carved from the forests and fields where the Sugaree Indians had made flint arrowheads and hunted for wild game.

McColl–Richardson Field
McColl–Richardson Field is a college football stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is the future home stadium of the 49ers football team representing the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte). Proposed by the university's chancellor in 2008, the stadium was approved by the school's Board of Trustees, the Board of Governors for the University of North Carolina, and North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue before officially beginning construction in April 2011.
