Bessemer City is a small suburban city in Gaston County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 5,340 at the 2010 census. The city is approximately 6 miles northwest of Gastonia and 25 miles west of Charlotte. It was settled in 1756 and founded in 1893.

Crowders Mountain State Park
Crowders Mountain State Park is a 5126 acre (20.74 km²) North Carolina state park in Gaston County, North Carolina in the United States. It is near Kings Mountain, North Carolina and on the outskirts of Gastonia, North Carolina, it includes the peaks of Crowder's Mountain and The Pinnacle. Crowders Mountain was named for Crowders Creek which originated near its base. Contrary to some historical information, Crowders Mountain was not named for Ulrich Crowder.

Crowder's Mountain
Crowders Mountain is one of two main peaks within Crowders Mountain State Park, the other peak being King's Pinnacle. The park is located in the western Piedmont of North Carolina between the cities of King's Mountain and Gastonia or about 25 miles west of Charlotte. Crowders Mountain abruptly rises nearly 800 feet above the surrounding terrain, and has an elevation of 1,625 feet (495 m) above sea level.
Sims Legion Park
Sims Legion Park is a 3,000-seat baseball stadium located in Gastonia, North Carolina, it serves as home to the Gastonia Grizzlies of the Coastal Plain League. The stadium underwent a total rebuilt in the 1970s in order to attract a Minor League Baseball team. Since then the stadium has seen many tenants come and go. Sims Legion Park is home to American Legion baseball in Gastonia.
Gastonia (Amtrak station)
The Gastonia Amtrak Station, located in Gastonia, North Carolina, is served by the Crescent passenger train. The school was the result of the merger of two former senior high schools, Holbrook Senior High and Ashley Senior High. The first class graduated in 1971. The school's most famous alumnus is retired basketball player James Worthy, player for the 1982 NCAA National Champion University of North Carolina and the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA.

Crowders Mountain Township is a township in southwestern Gaston County, North Carolina, United States. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 15,821. The township contains the city of Bessemer City, as well as a western portion of the city of Gastonia and an eastern portion of the city of Kings Mountain. The township takes its name from Crowder's Mountain, a 1,625-foot-high ridge in the western part of the township and home to Crowders Mountain State Park.
