Williams Observatory
Craven E. Williams Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by Gardner-Webb University. Built in 1990 and named for the ninth president of the university, it is located in Boiling Springs, North Carolina (USA). Among its instruments, the observatory features a 16 in Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. Paul Porter Arena is a 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. It is home to the Gardner-Webb University Runnin' Bulldogs, of the Big South Conference. The Arena was named in honor of Paul B. Porter who was a Board of Advisors Honorary Member and Lifetime Member. The arena is part of the Lutz Yelton Convocation Center (LYCC) a project that was completed in 1982 which houses the Dover Theater and Paul Porter Arena.
First Broad River
The First Broad River is a tributary of the Broad River, about 60 mi (95 km) long in western North Carolina in the United States. Via the Broad and Congaree Rivers, it is part of the watershed of the Santee River, which flows to the Atlantic Ocean. The First Broad River rises on South Mountain in northeastern Rutherford County and initially flows southeastwardly into Cleveland County to the town of Lawndale, where it turns southward.
Hillsdale, North Carolina
Hillsdale is an unincorporated community in Davie County, North Carolina, United States. It neighbors Bermunda Run to the northwest and is located along US 158 near its intersection with NC 801. Cleveland Community College
Cleveland Community College is a community college located in Cleveland County, North Carolina. It was established in 1965 as the Cleveland County Industrial and Adult Education Center with its first classes consisting of a Licensed Practical Nurse program, two extension classes, and adult basic education classes for adults who had not completed high school. It is owned by the City of Shelby and was formerly known as Shelby Municipal Airport. Although many U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this facility is assigned EHO by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.
John Henry Moss Stadium
John Henry Moss Stadium is a baseball stadium home to the Gardner-Webb University Runnin' Bulldogs. It was officially completed on September 18, 2010. It has a capacity of about 700, but can be expanded. John Henry Moss was born in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, and was president of the South Atlantic League for fifty years. He was the youngest person to be a president of a professional baseball league with Western Carolina League in 1948.
